We booked a wine tasting and charcuterie for two at Ken Forrester Wines on Saturday afternoon. No confirmation was sent via email and we had to phone to ensure we actually had a booking. Not entirely sure why this was necessary as it was by no means busy...
The owner and three more people walked in an seated themselves near us in the wine lounge, conducting what looked like a business meeting. We were talking to the ladies at another nearby table, when the owner of the wine farm abruptly turned around glaring at us and with a hand gesture, indicated that we should be quiet! I was incredulous at the pompous audacity of this rude man. If we, as paying patrons and guests of your establishment, were bothering you with our happy chatter, you should've been in your office. We cancelled our charcuterie board and left. The lovely wine unfortunately left a bitter taste in our mouths. Instead of treating guests with this level of arrogance and disdain, attention should be given to the outdated and boring interiors instead. With many upmarket wine farms, serving more exquisite wines and offering warm guest experiences to choose from, we will never visit Ken Forrester Wines again. We will not recommend it to any of our overseas friends and colleagues either. On the contrary...
