The hotel refused to let us check in an hour earlier, even though we only wanted to put our luggage in the room as we attended SACOPA at the Rustenburg Civic Centre. There was a huge netball and soccer group staying at the hotel who was extremely noisy. They woke us up at 05:45 each morning screaming and laughing in the passage. The restaurant during breakfast was loud and noisy while the big group had breakfast, so we decided to wait for them to leave before we had breakfast... but by the time they've left, everything was finished. Staff didn't refill anything, and we had to ask for things like yogurt, muesli, juice, cheese etc. Every morning we had to ask for clean glasses, bowls and cutlery. We were told that we are not allowed to make use of the swimming pool but noticed that some people from the group were allowed to make use of the swimming pool. On Saturday evening (11 Oct 2025), we returned to the hotel at 23:40. There were two drunk guys sitting on the steps, smoking dagga and harassing my two daughters. People from this group were drinking, laughing and yelling in the passage, with staff doing nothing about it. I've complained to the one (only) staff member on duty, but he did absolutely nothing. I took a couple of videos of the noisy, drunk people in the passage. At 01:45 I've phoned reception to ask them to do something about the noise. The staff member at reception told me "eish mam, I don't know what to do". I told him to ask his manager to phone me immediately, but nobody contacted me. The noise only quieted down at 04:50 Sunday morning, but at 06:20 the next bunch were making a racket on the way out. When we left the hotel, the parking area was dirty with empty beer bottles etc. During the early mornings and late evenings no management staff were seen. Only the one night watchman at reception who was sleeping most of the time. Sunday morning, 12 October 2025 when we left the hotel, I've asked to speak to the manager. The staff told me that the manager has left. I then asked them to let their manager phone me, but up to date (16 October) nobody has made contact with me. Overall, the staff members were friendly, and rooms were neat and clean, which makes it a pity, as I will NEVER stay at this establishment again!! Do yourself a favour and give this one a skip!

If you're looking for a worst service ever, then King's Gate hotel in Rustenburg is the place to be. No service. No apologies. And they took forever to refund my deposit after they "supposedly" double booked the same venue I booked way in advance by the way, and forgot to tell me. I was super unhappy about this, and I will never Ever recommend this place to anyone. Let alone ever set my foot there again.

If you're looking for a worst service ever, then King's Gate hotel in Rustenburg is the place to be. No service. No apologies. Poor service we have received on the 20th May 2021 around 20h00. 1. Poor reception - receptionist were with serious attitude without any smile nor satisfactory gesture. 2. Our booked table for the birthday was not prepared. 3. Poor waitering service - no introduction from the waiter, delayed to take our orders, didn't repeat our orders and didn't know the actual dishes only referring us to the menu. 4. Wrong drink brought to the table apart from what we have ordered. 5. Wrong food brought to the table apart from what we have ordered. These services basically should be improved, because the hotel has best environment ever.

Me and my friends booked a restaurant table at the King's Gate Hotel in Rustenburg for our friend's birthday celebration, on the 20th May from 19h00 to 21h00. On our arrival at the reception, the reception/welcome we received was very cold - very disgusting hospitality. They was seriousness within the receptionist. Our table was not prepared as we at least expected some vibe from the hotel since we booked prior our arrival. The waiter who assisted us was very inexperienced and unprofessional. He couldn't managed to explain to us the proper dishes to enjoy, he didn't repeat our orders, our food order were wrong when he brought them to the table. He delayed to serve us our drinks (he was not there to take our orders in time) and the special drink I have ordered was served in wrong manner. We however, appreciated the environment regardless of the poor the services. Therefore, we would like to bring this to your attention to bring experienced or train your waiters how to customers according to hotel standards. The waiters dressing/uniform was extremely unprofessional for the standards of the hotel.
