Gareth Roberts is a fantastic salesperson but delivering the promise of a turnkey project leaves a lot to be desired. The handoff between Gareth and his delivery team is shoddy with gaps left between the sales engagement and the team's execution plan; Gareth becomes unavailable during this process seldom to be seen on site. His companies after-sales promise “All workmanship carries a 18 month guarantee unless specific materials supplied is stated otherwise”. So when shelves start sagging and countertops pull from the wall a couple of months after installation you expect this contract to be honoured. Several attempts to contact Gareth has ended in: “will call you later”, “will take a look at it”, “send me an email” to “the business is no longer operates”. I also pointed out that spaces did not work as appliance’ dimensions were not taken into account, I was dismissed with: “you signed off on the design” A copout in my opinion, as it negates the reason for engaging a “professional” in the first place. I did not pay for the pretty mockup of the design but the experience of distinguishing between looking good on paper and practically working in the real world. What I have been able to ascertain from Gareth Roberts professional career through various online forums there is a correlation between complaints from suppliers for nonpayment, clients for non-delivery and the incorporation of a new company: Kitchen Delight, KD Design and now Turnkey Concepts are the most recent businesses. His sales pitch and the delivery against his terms and conditions do not align and I would caution anyone from doing business with him.

Kitchen Delights.

Anyone wanting to do business with Kitchen Delight we would advise against it because of the following reasons:

1. The company portrays themselves as a large company but they are very small. They do not have teams to do the work but rather opt to use people off the street to come into your home and do the work.

2. The owner Gareth Roberts only is seen once or twice and that is when he first measures and give the quote and maybe once more. They also never answer mails timeously.

3. He wants all the money upfront before even starting with the installation of the kitchen. If he has not received 90% then the units are not delivered. After this they are delivered in drips and drabs.

4. They charge an arm and a leg for the installation but pay the installer peanuts. The installer is good at what he does but he is bound to delivery from the company’s side which causes him to take a month to do the job that could have been completed in 2 weeks.

5. The time frame to install the kitchen units is promised at 2 weeks but it takes a month as the timber for the units has not been ordered or prepared.

6. The Project Manager is arrogant and has no manners.

7. Their after sales service is very poor. We contacted them to repair a few snags a week after the kitchen was completed it was a major event for them to come a fix the snags.

8. The client is second in their eyes. They have zero client relations capability.

9. They cannot issue you with a tax invoice as they do not have a VAT number.

10. They cannot issue you with any COC because they use people off the street.

11. They do not have closed vehicles to transport the timber product in when it rains, thus allowing the timber to be exposed to the elements while transporting.

12. There was some incompetence portrayed when we ordered the Granite for the Kitchen. It was supposed to be booked for us which never happened and when we went back to inquire about the granite it had already been sold off to someone else. It cost us more to change to a different type of slab. The owner refused to take responsibility for his slipup.

13. They try to force things down on you. My perception here is that they have surplus items that they are trying to get rid of.

14. The Cornice that has been installed is pulling lose from the ceiling and walls. We will need to get this repaired by another contractor.

15. We had to bring in our own plumbers to complete the plumbing due to the people that the company brings to do the work is off the street people. No COC can be issued due to this.

If you what a quality Kitchen installed professionally, do not use Kitchen Delights, you will not be impressed.

Good day. I would so dearly love to leave my true comments on here about Tania. However because we are currently engaged in a lawsuit against this deranged woman for countless untruths . I really wish I could say more. Please if you have any questions what so ever anyone is more than welcome to contact me directly on ********** Gareth Roberts. I have over 300 satisfied clients over the last 10 years with dozens of awards from Decorex, Home Makers Expo and Grand Designs. So please feel free to contact me.

I would like to thank Gareth and his friendly team for a job well done. Gareth installed our kitchen and walk in closets. Not only were they all friendly to deal with but also very professional. We had some snags once the job was done which they attended to immediately. Thank you Gareth to you and your awesome team for a job well done.

In 2012 we hired Kitchen Delights owned & run by Gareth Roberts. He marketed himself as being turn key with regards to renovations, not just a kitchen company. He promised he had his own team to which could do the whole project which was over R600k. That turned out to be a lie, he found different workers every day, most of them incompetent, and thieves. Our project was supposed to take 4 months. At the end of 4 months not one aspect of our renovation was complete. Months later, the project was still not finished and he listened to nothing . He was seldom on site even though our project was going badly and way past the completion date. He closed for December and left us with an incomplete house. The kitchen was done in drips and drabs over a 4 month period, the end result was less than satisfactory. I bought materials & paid labourers which he failed to do, he never paid me as promised.. He eventually deserted the project which was unfinished, and he had been paid in full. He did not even have the gutters installed. Our cost to complete the project and have the roof fixed, over R150 000.00 and to date he has refused to compensate us even though he was paid in full for the job
