I purchased a Red Rhino booster pump with a controller. Initially, everything worked fine, but after two weeks, the pump stopped activating when the water was off. I returned to the hardware store, and they connected me with the supplier for Red Rhino pumps. The supplier insisted that installing a non-return valve (NRV) on the pump’s suction would resolve the issue. Despite my doubts, I followed their advice, purchased and installed the NRV, but the problem persisted.
Frustrated, I returned to the store and spoke to the supplier again. They suggested I buy another controller and promised to refund me if the original one was faulty. I reluctantly agreed and installed the new controller, which has worked perfectly since. However, nearly a month later, they contacted me to say that my original controller was not faulty, and I could come to collect it.
This is extremely disappointing. After spending additional money on an unnecessary NRV and a replacement controller, I’m left to believe they are avoiding accountability. Their claim that the old controller is “100% functional” is unconvincing, given the clear issues it caused.
Red Rhino’s after-sales support is pathetic, and their lack of responsibility is unacceptable. Customers deserve better service and honest resolutions. I would not recommend their products based on this experience.
