am compelled to share my distressing experience at Knysna Provincial Hospital, where I witnessed a shocking disregard for patient care that I believe puts lives at risk. During my visit, I observed patients waiting for hours without receiving the help they desperately needed. The lack of timely assistance is alarming; individuals in critical condition were left unattended, highlighting a severe flaw in the hospital's triage system and overall management. While I understand that emergency rooms can be overwhelmed, the level of neglect I witnessed was unacceptable. There seemed to be a lack of communication among the staff, leading to confusion and frustration for both patients and their families. I implore the management of Knysna Provincial Hospital to take immediate action to address these issues. Our community deserves a healthcare facility that prioritizes timely and effective care for all patients. I hope my comments will prompt a critical evaluation of the current processes to prevent further loss of life due to delays in treatment.

Being unemployed I am forced to go to the hospital. And with having my doubts and feelings about it, for provincial hospitals do not have a good review. I have to say, I LOVE this hospital. It is extremely clean, thd personal is so professional and "human". Warm hearts and friendly. Service out of the books.WELL DONE and BLESSINGS to them.

There is no day that one can go to this place and get a service for a change F**k it’s frustrating how careless this people are The 1 & only explanation is that there is 1 doctor in the whole hospital Meaning one can die like a dog they don’t care I wonder how the hell they call this a hospital You come with a sick person & end up go home with no help, alternatively you must sit and watch them all gossip through the night till the following day

I got at knysna hospital with my sister inlaw on a Sunday afternoon. She was in so much pain she was literally in tears, the nurse who was doing observations was busy with a patient and the other patients who were waiting felt sorry for my sister inlaw and they suggested she gets help first so i told the nurse to please help my sister inlaw when she is done with the patient she was currently busy with, she said its fine she will help if the other patients are fine with that, she then left after helping that patient she never came back to help my sister inlaw, a doctor who was also on duty heard the cry and came to assist i told the doc what had happened, she was friendly enough to help with some pain relievers while we waited. After waiting for a while, my sister inlaw still in tears and in pain another nurse came for observation as she can not be attended by a doctor without the observation being done first after that the good long wait started it was the worst experience, they kept on saying they have only one doctor on duty so hence the wait. Patients who were here before us were still waiting as well. The service is so pathetic, there is no care really, a patient could die while waiting and they would still keep thier jobs and continue to provide this horrible service. People's lives are being gambled with in that hospital. As i write this review we are waiting in casualty to be attended to. Government departments are so not keeping a high standard its so bad and annoying. She was also told to pay a hospital fee, why now do people need to pay at government hospital?? Were will a patient who is sick and unemployed so broke that they cant even buy bread so that they can take medication, get money to pay a hospital. I was going to pay the R40 they asked for its nothing to me but they dont have a card machine so that i pay, now what about the less fortunate, what about those who even dont have transport to get to the hospital because the ambulance would take forever to get to them and deliver them to hospital. A lot is just going wrong in government hospitals.
