Many people told me that CELTA would be a life-changing intensive course. With DURBAN LANGUAGE CENTRE, you get CELTA LITE with lots of free time, cancelled input sessions (all of which you paid R18500 for) and material not being updated to the drive. It is impossible to work with the team from DURBAN LANGUAGE CENTRE who are disorganised, disrespectful and unprofessional. Unfortunately, all I got out of this is five weeks of stress and a sub-standard course with DURBAN LANGUAGE CENTRE. I really wish that more people would speak up so that DURBAN LANGUAGE CENTRE starts taking the CELTA course and trainees seriously and treating people with respect. Given that the course is online, we also had to deal with power outages (this is a South African based institute) and the DOS of DURBAN LANGUAGE CENTRE running out of data - not once but thrice. Since CELTA is now online in 2020, I would urge people to do their research and select the best centre, not the closest one. If I could do this over, I would sign up with International House. Same price. Superior quality. If people are wondering why I posting this review, it is because R18500 is not a small sum of money and people should get value for money. DURBAN LANGUAGE CENTRE fails in this regard and I truly wish that someone had written an honest review about DURBAN LANGUAGE CENTRE before. The problem is that most candidates are too afraid to speak up because they have the threat of not passing hanging over their heads which is so unfair. Good luck to those attempting CELTA. Choose well because you will be stuck with your chosen team of trainers for 4-5 weeks and it should be a life-changing, empowering experience which prepares you for teaching. For me, it wasn't. I hope that your experience with a quality institute such as International House (I have heard great things about them) is much better and that your CELTA is more than just a piece of paper, but real training for the real world.

The worst customer care! I paid up-front for a specific set of classes with select dates. I chose the course because the dates worked with my own work and travel schedule.

Three classes were cancelled, but they refuse to give me a refund. The cancellations were entirely by the company and their fault. I have been offered 'credit', which is useless to me, and dates for next year. But again, I chose a specific course with set dates to fit my schedule. Also, language courses work by their set syllabus and structure within a schedule – isolated classes after the fact are pointless.

They never get back to me – I have made repeated calls and emails to follow up for weeks. Still won't give a refund. Complete waste of money and very disappointing service and response from management. DO NOT USE.
