I have been a client of Leith Roofing since 2008.
The last quote I received from them was R13250 for a repair. Leith Roofing asked for a 50% deposit up front which I paid. Once the repair had been completed I duly paid the balance.
About 3 weeks later it rained and instead of no leak, the problem was worse than before the ‘repair’.
I called the manager of Leith Roofing - Mr. Kennedy who informed me that the job actually needed the expertise of a coppersmith, and lies outside of their abilities.
I duly called a coppersmith in who sorted out the problem 100%, and who’s charge amounted to R6000.
I called, left messages for, and finally wrote to Mr Kennedy requesting a refund. I called and left messages for the Director - Mr. Gilbey. In all cases no response was forthcoming, and it took weeks before Mr. Kennedy finally returned my call, declining my refund request with a lame apology.
I accepted Leith Roofing’s quote in good faith that they knew their job, yet it turned out they took a hefty payment from me knowing full well they had no coppersmith in their team who could have carried it out.
Leith Roofing: I call this a Bad job, Bad work ethics, and a Bad attitude!
