Bad job, Bad work ethics, and a Bad attitude!
I have been a client of Leith Roofing since 2008. The last quote I received from them was R13250 for a repair. Leith Roofing asked for a 50% deposit up front which I paid. Once the repair had been completed I duly paid the balance. About 3 weeks later it rained and instead of no leak, the problem was worse than before the ‘repair’. I called the manager of Leith Roofing - Mr. Kennedy who informed me that the job actually needed the expertise of a coppersmith, and lies outside of their abilities. I duly called a coppersmith in who sorted out the problem 100%, and who’s charge amounted to R6000. I called, left messages for, and finally wrote to Mr Kennedy requesting a refund. I called and left messages for the Director - Mr. Gilbey. In all cases no response was forthcoming, and it took weeks before Mr. Kennedy finally returned my call, declining my refund request with a lame apology. I accepted Leith Roofing’s quote in good faith that they knew their job, yet it turned out they took a hefty payment from me knowing full well they had no coppersmith in their team who could have carried it out. Leith Roofing: I call this a Bad job, Bad work ethics, and a Bad attitude!

Endless trouble
<p>Leith Roofing were contracted to repair my sagging roof but created more problems than I ever had. My roof needed structural repair, a problem identified by my painters due to a sagging roof. My roof had no problems besides the sag. Leith Roofing, together with another contractor, repaired my roof but in so doing created a list of problems. The worst of all is that my house sounds like a tent now. When the wind blows, and that is often in Cape Town, the house sounds like a flapping tent! It is very disturbing and unsettling. </p>

Endless trouble

Endless Trouble
<p>My roof trusses needed to be bolstered. Leith Roofing did the tiling after the trusses had been done by another contractor. My roof had no other problems, no noise, no leaking, no visible problems other than the internal trusses discovered only on an inspection. Since Leith's work my house sounds like a tent, the wind whips into my roof waking us in the night. To get one of the fascia's fixed after it was replaced very badly; the requirements of the Engineer; all the fascia and tile merges closed up and a host of other damage related issues due to their work, completed is proving to be a game of cat and mouse to Leith. They are resisting to finish their work. To top it they have no consideration of the stress that this has on the home owners daily lives and commitments. Its dragging on and I am very frustrated.</p>
