I went to celebrate my birthday at Aurum on Saturday the 26th of August. The entire experience was a disappointment, my appointment was for 2:45 when i called to confirm my booking I was not told that this would be a limited time booking, nor does it disclose this when making a booking online. 2 and a half hours to sit down eat and pay seems highly unrealistic.
After we arrived our waitress was not attentive throughout our entire visit, to which we had to call on different waiters to get any service or simply place our order and when the waitress did attend she was simply rude. At 5:25 we were asked to move to the octo bar we could not understand as we were very formally dressed and when i confirmed my booking i told them we would be leaving at around 6:30 which the restaurant happily agreed. When i asked for the bill i was told to go to the octo bar and the bill will be brought to me as the next booking was already waiting. The waitress took 45min to bring the bill and walked away for another 10min where as i just wanted to pay and leave. When leaving the restaurant at 6:30 to my surprise the entire restaurant was still empty and had no bookings had arrived.
Needless to say i had expressed on the online booking and at the restaurant that it is my birthday. I came to Aurum as i was recommended by two of the guests that were joining me that they got treated so well for their birthday as the restaurant offers a complimentary desert that says 'happy birthday' including a photograph that is taken. When waiters and management was asked no one could understand where that came from as that is not offered yet when shown videos from the other two guests we were told the chef has left and will only return after 6.
This was a highly unprofessional experience, and unfortunately the beautiful interior cannot make up for this terrible service and unprofessionalism.
@The Leonado hotel, all the parking machine kept swollowing guests tickets as well as their credit cards. When trying to call for help it says line is busy, it continued to spit out my card and any cash i put inside. After finding a reception to ask what the issue was and get the ticket paid, they did not have change ... For a 4 star hotel and restaurant i couldn't be more dissatisfied.
