I'm writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Limax Security's services. In 2020, I paid R14,000 for burglar guard installation after a quotation was done .When they came to install them they found my window offset insufficient, making installation impossible without compromising window functionality. They told me that the person who came to take measurements was unfair not to tell me that my window offset were insufficient .They decided not to install and promised to report the issue. Later, I was asked to add R6,000 for beams which I couldn't afford. I then requested a refund as i felt that it unfair for me as the quotation was inaccurate. It's been 5 years, and the issue remains unresolved. Recently i phoned Dion and begged to receive a refund he offered a R10,000 he said R4000 is cover the rework of the burglar guards I have given Limax security enough time to resolve the issue. Dion's been rude and unprofessional, He told me that it wasn't his fault that my window offset was insufficient, He even threatening to involve lawyers .I have sent messages directly to Dion he is not responding to my messages and not taking my calls. I feel not taken seriously may be due to my gender and race

I bought my 3 gates in 2020 with a 10 year guarantee. Unfortunately the guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. I contacted the company to advise them that the bolts were coming off one of the gates and needed repairs. After 4 days of following up and receiving no feedback, they then told me that i need to pay an R850 call out charge to fix it as they subcontract the labour. Why was this not stipulated in the guarantee. If you are looking for a reputable company that honors their guarantee, rather look elsewhere.

Limax/co/za would rather loose a sale than give an estimate on a security gate. I thought that I'll save them money (petrol) by asking for an estimate in case their product cost is more than my budget. If the price was in my ballpark I would have asked for a quote. They ignored my query.

So i can give you the long story. I asked Limax to come in to quote on our house and they gave a very reasonable quote. I did state to the salesman that security was my number 1 priority and i dont want to skimp on it. So justifiably so, they offered me the cheapest security gates they had. Anyway we move on. Worry number 1: With 5 rooms to prep incl. passage and main room gates it took around 3 days .. i thought wow, thats fast service. Nope, turns out the salesmen didnt quote for middle beams on my windows, which means the install was wrong. A rush job means something is going wrong! I could literally bend the bars cause there were no middle brace beams. The passage gate install ? nope, the bars were not level. so we sent it back. Round 2 - They come to install again to install the middle brace bars - YAY .. nope .. in installing the bars they had to break the spacers out damaging the spacers and side bars .. Passage Gate ? yay its installed .. with scratches where the angry manufacturing guy who had to sort the gate out after his mess up , scratched the gate and touched it up with an off colour of the original, which i wasnt happy with .. Where do we stand after round 2 - Scratched burglar guards, wrong brace beam installed in bathroom, gouged out brace beam on the slam lock gate, damaged tiles in the passage, chipped window sill in main bedroom, badly cut bars on the slam lock window guard in my sons room. So i call the owner .. he comes through, he sees things i didnt even see and tells the guys to come a third time. Round 3 - Guys come in install new brace beam in bathroom, touch up all the nicks and scratches and fill holes with silicon. I come in for inspection .. passage gate is scratched still and touched up more with a yellow white instead of re-powder coated. So nope, please fix the passage gate, still lots of scratches, nicks .. and so it goes on. While this is going on, i ask for a more secure main bedroom slam lock, which i wasn't offered in the beginning, they say yes. It comes, and problems with install. They take it back and tell me it wont work.. Ok i say, is there anything we can do to make it more secure ? yes, additional bars they say and they will sort out. OK cool i say. Round 4 - Email . Mr Da Costa . we want to cut our losses as this process will go on forever, we will therefore refund you for the 2 gates. WHAATT ?? I called the poor sales lady - Sorry whats the problem here ? Nope, she tells me what she is told. The owner has told her to refund me and cut his losses ... not rectify the fact that his team of manufacturers and sales staff failed to do their job correctly ? So the job is badly done but its my fault for being so pedantic ? Its my fault that i dont accept a R25k job with scratches, gouges in the metal basically bad workmanship, thats my fault. Its like going into a dealership, pick your car, and ask for accessories. When you come to collect, they took the car for a drive and scratched it at all places, damaged your rims, would you accept it > NOPE! so why should i be forced to accept this ? If you accept the above requirements for a business .. by all means use them. But when it comes to security, i will not accept anything less than a 5/5 .. Limax, i hope that when you find this review, you manage in some way to change the way you run your business and put customer satisfaction first.
