Poor workmanship and very unprofessional, chasing money, expired NHBRC certificate, using another name on invoice than the registerd business. Way over priced, struggled to get them to do the snag list and more damage caused. Lots of promises and lies, unsafe for human interferance.

I am looking to put 3 pre-fab NUTEC homes on some of my plots. I saw adverts for NUTEC homes on Facebook marketplace and contacted the company, NUTEC Houses and Log Homes [aka NUTEC Houses and Log Cabins, aka Sasha Mitchel, aka Log Homes and Nutec Houses, aka megaloghomes.co.za] on 8 April 2022 via WhatsApp. I asked whether the homes could be viewed and a few more questions regarding fittings supplied. I got the following answer 10 minutes later: “I will respond all your questions later today”. Two weeks went by and I did not get any response to my queries. On 20 April, I replied to their response “I will respond all your questions later today” with three LOL emojis. I got an almost immediate response: “Hi, I'm very very sorry for not coming back to you in time” and an answer to some of my questions including that they are based in Port Elizabeth. No name was given, just the initials SB. I was planning a visit to Port Elizabeth later in the year and responded that I would contact them prior to my next visit to Port Elizabeth. On 12 July, I sent them a WhatsApp as follows: “Hi SB, I will be in PE next week and would like to take up your offer of viewing one of your completed homes and if possible one that you are busy constructing. I have Wednesday 20 July free. Is this possible? If so, please let me have an address and a time that would suit you.” I got the following response on the same day: “I will be free for you.... Will send whatsapp pin for you” I did not receive the promised “pin” so 2 days later, I sent a reminder saying: “I need to finalise my appointments today. Where [suburb] and at what time are we meeting?” The response came: “I will send you the pin”. The 20th of July came, and I received no pin. One would think that after all the interruptions with COVID lockdowns, construction businesses would jump at the opportunity of new cash business. Not so with NUTEC Houses and Log Homes [aka NUTEC Houses and Log Cabins, aka Sasha Mitchel, aka Log Homes and Nutec Houses, aka megaloghomes.co.za]. I just wish that, instead of wasting my time, they would have just told me: we are not interested in new business!
