At age of 78, this is my first report. Absolutely disgusting accommodation. Most doors could nopt be opened due to decay. No hanging space in bedroom. Furniture was dirty, ie never cleaned. Many light bulbs dead. Two major fans dead. Leaking toilet base looked to be chronic. Damaged ceiling meant constant leak of bat droppings. Electrical connections open with no covers.

We had such a wonderful time at Mabalingwe this past weekend. It was amazing to see all the animals. They are all in such good health. This is an absolute must for everyone to see. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our accommodation were perfect. Will definitely visit them again. I call it my new Happy Place!!! A BIG thank you to all at Mabalingwe. <3

I am writing this at 23:38 due to a noise complaint we have been trying to get resolved since 22:00 at the caravan park. This is our 3rd time camping at Mabalingwe and to say that this specific visit has completely ruined all our memories of this place is completely heartbreaking. It was only today that I learned that the caravan side allows for music and even after texting for assistance with guests playing music at night (past the noise & music curfew), No assistance was received, they just kept texting that they’ll send one of the staff to look into it but it never stopped. As an extremely light sleeper, This was certainly my last time coming here and will never recommend this place to anyone that seeks to escape to nature through camping because you will be met with music AT A CAMPING FACILITY.

The game reserve and resort said that they are wheelchair accessible. I booked a 7 day stay with them after confirming with them that they are wheelchair accessible, only to leave on day 3 due to the difficulty getting around or doing anything. The restaurant, the pathways and all of the activities were not nearly wheelchair accessible.

I am writing this review with great disappointment, our social club made a booking at Mabalingwe, i was the one doing the booking, i was communicating with a lady named Lynette, she sent me a quotation /profoma invoice which included a refundable breakage fee of R3000, we checked in on Friday 22 November 2024 and checked out on Sunday 24 November 2024 till today we did not receive the refund for the breakage fee and so far as i remember nothing was broken. I tried to contact Lynette several times on her number even on her WhatsApp she just ignores my texts This is a clear daylight ******* and disrespect to clients, i mean if there was a reason for the delay she should have communicated or atleast refer us to the relevant department, I don't recommend Mabalingwe cos of their attitude and robbing people tendencies

HINDA MOUNTAIN LODGE - HOST LYNETTE VAN SCHALKWYK It is absolutely SHOCKING THAT WE WERE CHARGED FULL PRICE for this accommodation. The pictures do not match the reality of the house. Lynette said we should rather book via her as it is cheaper, needless to say we are unable to report her or leave a review via Booking.com or LekkeSlaap. Actually seems like a **** to me as she seems to advertise as if she works for Mabalingwe. maybe she does, who knows, but she is very unprofessional. We had this exact same experience as per a recent review: A broken dishwasher, which does not pump away the water, resulting in a terrible smell when you don’t run the dishwasher for a few hours. A leak on the inside fireplace pipes created a water puddle in the living room. Electricity tripped at least five times randomly during our stay, also in the middle of the night. Jacuzzi piping that is leaking compromised the operations of the jacuzzi. The walkway to the braai area has been completely washed away and is unsafe for usage. Cracks and openings in the windows and doors left us with a massive plague of insects inside the house, even with everything closed up. A staircase that functions as a waterway after each little bit of rain is a slippery deathtrap considering the lack of railings. The lighting was being fixed with drills and hammers while we were already checked in, leaving us with a big mess and masking tape on both staircases, combined with the cleaning lady still cleaning after check-in. A 4x4 vehicle that was in a state of despair; not to speak of the lack of lighting, for which we paid more than enough. The bottom section of the house had no electricity working, even after reporting it, nobody came to help us. Which left us with 1x room and bathroom that we paid for but could not use. Due to terrible construction quality, somebody could have been hurt. These are just a few of the major things; the ‘less major things' were kept off the list. Not to mention Lynette was a terrible host, could not get hold of her as soon as we arrived she was unreachable. She did not even bother to meet us at the house, we had to figure everything out on our own. Further to that we had to basically beg for our deposit back.

This was the most unpleasant experience I have ever had. I booked for a 3 day stay for my aunt and all the pics shared, where noting compared to the actual state of the chalet booked. On arrival, She noted a broken window (including the frame). The picture showed a mini kitchenette only to find out this is set up OUTSIDE the room. Booking was for a couple and she was met with 2 single beds. The lady in charge (Monique) was contacted, requesting the change of rooms because the one allocated was unacceptable. We had a back an forth with the lady, telling my aunt that she would be moved into an alternative room and the next day, she will be allocated to a sufficient chalet. We waited till 6pm for a new chalet to be allocated (this was after a serious hassle of getting ahold of her). Finally my aunt was moved to another chalet, only to be met by sheets at the door. The only difference to this room, was that, there were no broken window, however it was just as bad. Again we called Monique, she apologised and promised to refund the 1st days booking. Day 2, nothing is done till the late afternoon, where now the room promised by Monique is no longer available as promised. My aunt had to stay in that chalet for the remainder of her stay. THIS WAS A HORID experience for her to say the least. Yes the 1st day's refund was sent to me, but the fact that she had to be in that place for another 2 days was hell. The cabinets are falling apart, linen is worn out. DONT BOTHER BOOKING THIS PLACE. Pity I cant load the pics

The house is nice, beautiful and well kept. Service was bad no communication and unreachable when having issues. Had water and electricity issues. Breakage fee not refunded despite several follow ups.
