HelloPeter Team,
I am lodging a complaint regarding the poor service I have received from Makro and Defy.
Makro and Defy previously came out to repair my fridge and replaced the motherboard. Unfortunately, after a few weeks the same issue occurred again. I contacted Makro Wonderboom on 29 January 2026 and spoke to Jane, requesting that they log another call with Defy. I provided my previous reference number as well as my Makro card number, and I was assured the matter would be attended to.
To date, I have received no feedback whatsoever.
I have also been trying repeatedly to call Jane at Makro Wonderboom for an update; however, my calls are being disconnected, which is extremely frustrating.
The situation has now worsened — we woke up to find the fridge side warm and everything in the freezer defrosted, resulting in food spoilage and major inconvenience.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and urgency in resolving this matter. I request that Makro and Defy urgently:
Provide feedback on the logged call
Arrange a technician as a matter of urgency
Advise on compensation for spoiled food if applicable
Please treat this as urgent.
