I used Macro Clear (Jacques Walters) for my installation and paid the ridiculous amount of R148 000 for 6 panels; 5.5KW Inverter; 2 Batteries in 2022. This was a bundled price - no individual item prices at all. Last price from him was R7 800 per panel installed back in 2023 because the job was obviously too small for him. I also have screenshots of a R4000 price difference for a battery that he charged (installed on the same day). Recently I got an electrician to evaluate and correct my installation. Macro Clear (together with his so called engineer Marius) DID NOT install the following: a Surge protector on my DB Board. a Surge protector between my Inverter and panels. No disconnects in front of the string panels. No battery disconnects installed, so no way at all to switch off the batteries. The cables from the panels to the inverter was just laying loose in my roof without any protection. The only cover over the cables was (to BS me) about 30cm worth of trunking in my garage where the cables can be seen. I had to spent an additional couple of thousand rand to let to had this all corrected for my own safety. Jacques is now involved in some SA EV Charge . . . this is also the email address if you put it together. Snake oils salesman, some people will call them

a Month after my system was installed by Macro Clear, I asked Jacques Walters for a quote on extra panels. He rep**** I do not need more panels, although I have a small system. Eventually he said R3 800 per panel installed but that he is going on holiday soon and I must wait for a month. So after his holiday I asked again and all of a sudden it was now R4 800 per panel installed. I told him he is ripping me off and after a month decided I might as well just go for it. I asked again and again it went up another R1 000 per panel, and I clicked and tested him and within one year of asking him a couple of times, the panels jumped to R8 000 per panel installed. This guy is enormously expensive and only wants to do big jobs, one of my friends paid almost half the price Jacques quoted and got double the system. He also does not supply a detailed quote, so you have no idea what the inverter, battery or panels cost for you initial installation. I recommended him to about 15 friends and colleagues, which all told me this guy is on his own planet and they will never use him as he is too expensive. And then he requires, at the time, about R90 000 deposit which you must pay to book your slot and then wait about 2/3 months. My COC also was done afterwards (after I asked about 10 times) by him while he was not even at my home. My last 2 enquiries were just blatantly ignored, I can see he saw my messages, but he does not bother to reply.

Mr Jacques Walters from Macroclearsolar is apparently the owner/director of the abovementioned business. His business name is on the inverter he installed for a client in Stellenberg. The inverter malfunctioned and the client established the controlling CT, supp**** with the product, was not installed. Various attempts to make contact with Mr Walters were un successful, and the client contacted me, requesting me to rectify the problem. I established that: 1. The CT is missing along with all installation instructions and the users manual. 2. The neutral bar installed for essential equipment is strapped to the board with cable ties, and to prevent the terminals from touching the metal lid of the DB, it was covered with a few layers of insulation tape. 3. The COC is non-compliant (obviously) with blatant ignorance of the SANS wiring regulations. 4. The COC was signed off by a person that was apparently not even on site, according to the owner. I contacted Mr Walters at approx 15h00 on Wednesday 15th of May. Upon hearing the address, he suddenly experienced a bad cellphone signal,, requesting me to send him a whatsapp message. I contacted him again, this time leaving a voice message requesting him to contact me. Until now, no response. Going on his website, there is a lot of praise for his service and excellent workmanship. Unfortunately without any contactable references. Which places a question mark on their validity. I am willing to meet with Mr Walters on site to discuss the matter, and to give him the opportunity to explain himself. Why are people shaming themselves in such a way? Why don't they keep their business-dealings honest, and give the client proper and deserved service?

Macro Clear gives the worst possible service for inverter and battery installation-from an invalid CoC to non-existent after-sales service-Jacques supplies it all. Dont trust this company to come close to your house.
