I have had an issue with my 2017 Macbook Pro on 2021 December, sent the Macbook to Macwave and was quoted over R3000 for the repair for a backlight cable replacement, which I have paid, Macwave has also said the lid was dented, which was true but it had a slight dent but the lid was like new, not a scratch on it and my camera was working. When Macwave sent my Macbook Pro back to me, I saw the Lid that was changed, not only was it scratched with marks all over it, I had no camera and the rubber next to screen is also damaged, but I didn't mind at first as my screen was working and I could carry on with my work. But 5 months later, I have the same issue. The cable had a 6 months warranty. So I contacted them back and sent the Macbook to them. The next day I get a quote for repair again for Backlight cable replacement of R2187.50 which is just for labor. I have called and complained that this is unacceptable, the macbook wasn't repaired properly in the 1st place and this isn't my screen but they are adamint it is, so I asked the lady (Zena) she said they changed the Lid and maybe the Lid had no camera, so I don't have a camera anymore, and I must pay again for the repair. This is an outrage. So I told Zena to send my macbook back to me with the cable and I'll get it repaired myself. Am not happy with the service I have received. If a backlight cable was changed I shouldn't be having this issue in 4 to 5 months.
