I urge anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Mahindra George to avoid this place at all costs, especially when dealing with Joe.
I booked a test drive on a Saturday morning and met Joe, one of the most *********** salespeople I've ever encountered in my life.
I was delighted with the test drive and tried to negotiate with Joe about the price. He didn't even consider it. There was no negotiating on the price, and I had to make peace with it but asked that the scratch on the front bumper be repaired.
The car went in for repairs, but there was no contact from anyone at Mahindra George on when the car would be ready. I waited over a week before I called them to find out what was happening. I eventually returned to the dealership after a week to collect the car.
Prior to collecting the car, I called Joe at 9:00 am to ensure the car was ready for collection. He informed me that everything had been done and that I could collect the car at 15:00 pm. I asked if I could collect it at 13:00 pm as I had to return to work. He agreed.
When I arrived, I noticed that the front bumper and headlight were misaligned following the repairs. Joe didn't even evaluate the repairs once it returned. I waited a very long time to purchase the car and decided to take it somewhere else instead.
I arrived at 12:00 pm to sign papers and provide any documents the dealership needed before taking the car. Customer service at this dealership is the worst I've ever experienced. There was a major delay with one of the sales managers who were not on the premises, and it took them over 2 hours to find her for a code that was needed to process my application.
During this entire process, Joe was nowhere to be seen. He didn't even realize I was waiting for hours to take the car. Instead, he was relaxing in his chair making jokes with his team members. Debbie from Finance was the only capable person in that entire dealership who had a clue of what was going on. If it wasn't for her, I would have cancelled my purchase.
I eventually got the keys to my vehicle at 15:30 pm. Once I provided all my documents to Debbie, I had to make my way to Joe who provided the papers I needed to sign and handed me the keys. He was disengaged, uninterested in anything about my purchase, and tried to get it done as quickly as possible.
During all our brief interactions, he neglected to tell me anything about when my license papers and number plates would arrive. This I had to once again find out a few days later by calling the dealership. Once I got the ball rolling on my car papers and number plates, it took the dealership two weeks before it was ready. This was after multiple emails between me and Debbie. Joe didn't get involved at all.
After two weeks, Debbie notified me that the car papers and number plates were ready for collection. I drove to the dealership only to find that the car papers were ready, but not the number plates. So, Joe decided it would be best if I printed the number plates and simply sent him the invoice which he would reimburse afterwards. This was another mistake...
I printed the number plates and sent the invoice to Debbie. She forwarded my invoice to Joe who took 5 days before he got back to me. It took a further 5 days before the money reflected in my account as the Finance department required proof of account details before they could process the funds.
I’ve never had to practice so much patience while enduring one of the most cruelling experiences in my life when buying a car. Joe sucked all the joy out of my purchase, and I don’t want anyone else to cross paths with this *********** salesperson in the future.
