We visited Makhasa for our honeymoon and it was divine. It’s tucked right inside Phinda (they actually share vehicles and rangers). The rooms are lovely, the staff and super friendly and the overall decor is stunning. The only thing we weren’t blown away by was the food - it certainly wasn’t bad but we just felt that ice cream and chocolate sauce was quite up to scratch for what you’re paying. We saw the big 5 in two days and thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. Would 100% recommend.

The lodge cancelled my booking after settling payment, rewards agreed that the lodge would make a refund and everyday they would lie and say refund will be processed and never was done. They stopped responding to my emails and Ingrid their General Manager hung up the phone, when I advised her that it was rude of her to do that she sent a message stating that I will be hearing from her lawyers yet my refund wasn’t done. She said the owner didn’t have wifi and that’s why refund wasn’t done. There’s no alternative person to contact, when i asked for owners email address or contact she told me she wasn’t going to give me the details!
