Pensioner online ticket ripoff at Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves
Whilst the Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves experience was excellent and memorable we were aggrieved by their online booking system. The online system clearly states that pensioner discounts for the double venue are not applicable. As a pensioner I paid the usual adult price of R190 for both venues. On collecting our tickets at Maropeng we were horrified to see pensioner double venue tickets at R65. The lady in the ticket office said she gets regular complaints and we should email our complaint. This we did on Tuesday 7 January and to date we have had zero response. The venue is well worth a visit but if you are a pensioner rather buy tickets onsite. There is no benefit booking online. You join the same queue and pay extra for online bookings.

23 Jan 2020, 12:37A week has passed and zero response from Maropeng. I am not surprised as I emailed them directly on two occasions prior to commenting on HelloPeter. Whilst the product offering is very good and worth a visit their attitude towards the paying public is most undesirable.
