I had a very disappointing experience with Martin Electronics in Bronkhorstspruit in December 2024. I called them to fix a DSTV error, and they charged me a hefty amount of R2800 for just 40 minutes of labor. To make matters worse, they also charged me for the replacement of an LNB that was never actually replaced. When I reached out to confront them about the excessive labor charge and the false part replacement, they promised to reimburse me for the unfulfilled service. However, weeks went by with nothing but empty promises. Now, they are completely ignoring my calls and messages. I have proof of all conversations and screenshots as evidence of their unprofessional behavior. I would strongly advise against using their services, as their business practices are dishonest, and their customer service is non-existent.

If there was a -10 rating I would have given it. I had problems rebooting my decoder and called them. I asked what the call out fee was and they said R350 so told them to come out. They said I needed a new LNB which they replaced, then rebooted my existing decoder. They were there for half an hour and then presented me for a bill of R4550. I was shocked ! On the bill they charged me for com-inst-labour R1950. Satcel ne optical R1740 Explorer new ??? R860. I told them I don't have that sort of money. They then brought it down to R2950 and insisted on payment. So I had to do this while they waited. I felt a bit threatened. Please do NOT call out these people that tell you the fee is R350 it happened to me once before

I called this business as I had a problem with my DSTV giving an error 143 code. They eventually arrived at about 19:00 and after the "technician" went up on the roof he informed me that I would need to replace the LNB. They then were on the roof for a maximum of about ten minutes. I was presented with a bill of R2600 comprising of R1750 for callout & labour, R850 for a new LNB. After a bit of wrangling, we were given a discount of R300. We paid by eft and they left. I was a bit suspicious of the amount of time they spent setting-up, so I went up on the roof the next day to find out that the LNB was second hand. After numerous Whatsapp messages I still have no resolution to the problem. These guys are disgrace to the profession and should not be allowed to operate under the Multichoice banner.

Reading social media after also experiencing a bad situation with Martin Electronics Margate, I must agree with all the complaints on social media of once loyal members (like me). Sadly customer care dissapear when you are the only service provider in a small town. Same old same MONEY talks. What is MOST dissapointing is that Martin Electronics underestimate the intelligence of customers. Luckily there is other service suppliers in neighboring towns whose first priority is the customer and they treat you with honesty integrity and respect. I would advise you to think twice or get a second opinion before you deal with Martin Electronics. Loyalty is not top of the list with many businesses these days. I can understand why they are NOT part of hellopeter.com

Martin Electronics Margate: Got my TV into a knotted state to the extent that it did not want to react to any button. Took to Martin Electronics and they kept it for 1/2 hour. Fixed it no charge. Good friendly service. Thanks.
