I am so disappointed in the service I received from Maslow hotel in Sandton especially because I am a potential client that they could have had. I am shattered, hurt and words can’t describe the treatment I got. I called Maslow hotel on the 14th of October 2021, I spoke to a lady who seemed rather confused and couldn’t help with booking a venue for a surprise birthday on their outside garden area, she hung up and I was discouraged. A few minutes later I receive a call from Amoré Ansar who is the food and beverage coordinator and coordinate’s venue bookings as well, she took down all my details and said I can come in at ANY TIME ( I’ve highlighted anytime because I was not told I had to make an appointment) I alert the lady that I will come in the following week to see the garden area and to sort out the food menu for the day Amoré Ansar said it will not be a problem on that same day I then got an email of the booking I had reserved with all the information I needed but some information needed me to have a one on one with Amoré Ansar. I went to Maslow hotel Sandton on the 20th of October 2021, as per the call I rushed there from Aucklandpark, when I get there I don’t find anyone by the entrance of the restaurant and I had to wonder around looking for staff to help me, I spoke to a lady I eventually found who told me I had to speak to Amoré Ansar and works with appointments, on my phone call with Amoré Ansar a Week before, she did not mention me making an appointment and even the email didn’t mention appointments, they hand me her card and I call her immediately, she is disinterested on the phone, I felt like I was nothing, she told me, someone she doesn’t know who is a potential client that she has left and she’s not about to drive back just for me. So I tell her that this was not communicated with me before and why is it that I have to hear of it now, she doesn’t answer me, she then says I can come in the next day at 11am which unfortunately I can’t because I’m also at work, I ask to make an appointment for Monday 25th of October 2021, at 11am and that was agreed. Amoré Ansar then says to me that she will call me back on my number the next day to check if I can have my surprise birthday. The next day I don’t receive a call as promised and at 13:46 I called and to my surprise she didn’t firstly remember me and we had had 2 long calls now, she checks if the garden area is available meaning she didn’t even bother doing it as she had promised, she then gives me the unfortunate news that the garden area is booked for a shoot. What really made me angry was how this booking was not picked up 2 weeks ago when I made my booking. Amoré Ansar Made me feel so small that she didn’t consider me and she doesn’t even know me, I don’t know if it’s because I am black or what but I got the worst customer see from her, and from Maslow as a whole, I had high hopes of this hotel and thought it’s one of the prominent places in Sandton but I was wrong. I am very discouraged and sad, hurt, miserable and disappointed. I am angry and had considered taking this matter to social media. I’m not sure what the criteria is to hire staff in Maslow but their customer service deserves a minus figure, I’m humiliated by this place. I will be alerting friends and family not to even consider going to stay there or host events there. They will treat you like rubbish and a rotten potato that they just want to get away. I’ve never been so angry and humiliated like this. Very very disappointing
