Hellopeter, My name is Londiwe, and I am based in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. I recently experienced clear *****ulent activity by a Maxim cab driver during a delivery trip. The driver insisted on upfront payment outside the app, then ignored all contact and failed to complete the delivery, effectively *****ing the funds. On the 15th of January 2026, 17:37 my brother booked a delivery trip through the Maxim app (Please see the attached snip shot). The assigned driver (Thembisa Sibitane number plate: LV12PCGP, drivers a red motorcycle) insisted that my brother send him money in advance (via Capitec bank transfer) before proceeding with the delivery. After receiving the money, the driver completely ignored all subsequent calls and messages from my brother, cancelled the trip from his side and failed to complete the delivery, and effectively disappeared with the funds. This behavior constitutes clear *****ulent conduct demanding upfront payment outside the app's standard payment system and then abandoning the job. This is not just poor service, this is outright *****: - Demanding payment outside the official Maxim app/payment system - Taking money and then abandoning the job Ignoring all attempts to make contact We trusted Maxim to provide a safe and reliable delivery service. Instead, this driver exploited that trust and we suffered a financial loss. This incident raises serious questions about how carefully Maxim vets its drivers and whether they allow or fail to prevent off-app payment demands that lead to ****s. I am happy to provide screenshots of the chats where he requested money to be sent to his account, call logs showing unanswered attempts, proof of the payment and a screenshot of cancelled trip by the driver after he received payment. This experience has made us feel unsafe using Maxim for deliveries or rides. I urge other users to be extremely cautious if any driver asks for money upfront outside the app, do not agree!! Rather cancel the trip and use more reliable services like Ubereats/ Mr D etc. Thank you.

My experience with Maxim was completely horrific. The driver failed to indicate that the trip had started, resulting in a false wait time of 9 minutes being recorded. This caused the fare to increase from R69 to R87, which is unjustified and misleading. To make matters worse, I was charged twice for the same trip, as confirmed by my transaction history on my banking app. I reported this issue to Maxim immediately, yet I have received no response whatsoever. There has been zero accountability or effort to resolve the matter. This level of service is unacceptable and borders on *********. Be extremely cautious of this app. Based on my experience, I strongly advise AGAINST using Maxim.

I tried using maxim for the first time, i booked a ride and had to cancel because i wanted to change my address I added my card and cancel the ride and got a notification my money will be refunded back into my account however its been 24 hours and I still have not received the money back. Maxim is a **** and is robbing the people of their money. Do not download this app or even use it. Its dangerous and a ****.

I had the most awesome experience with Maxim today, 10/03/2025. My daughter had to return her car and Maxim was picking her up, at another point, for the airport. Her battery died on the car she had to return. We contacted Quinten de Kock and he sent his driver Warren Walbrugh to assist her. Not only did he get the car going but got her to the airport in good time for her international flight. Thank you Quinten, Warren and Maxim for going above and beyond to assist and for your friendly, efficient service. I will definitely make use of this service in the future. You guys are rock stars.

unroadworthy cars on this platform, unscreened drivers,false promises of security features (non existing)...very dangerous../ Maxim is only after commission and is worried about passengers or the drivers (Dailly drivers being killed or hijack here in Capetown..and all management is doing,is spreading false lies to drivers and passengers..in CAPETWON WE HAVE TO ARM OURSELVES WHEN USEING THIS APP...STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT LIVE...

I booked a ride on 30 November 2024 and was charged R75 but no driver accepted the trip so I canceled the trip, I am still waiting for my trips refund until now, very disappointed. I would never recommend this ride service to anyone!
