Richard Sthole was the instructor on the 8th of May of the First aid class level 1. He was very professional and the knowledge he shared with us was very insightful. We covered everything

I got sick at work and informed my superiors and they called the ambulance from medi response. I was transported from Melrose to Edenvale. The reason for Edenvale is because I didn't have medical aid to cover private hospital. What I didn't know is that later on I was gonna be sent a message on Whatsapp of the money I owe to them which was around R4000. Now what I don't understand is that why was I not told that I would need to pay for the ambulance service.

The Medi Response team were amazing. They were called to help a woman who had fallen in front of us on the road side having multiple epileptic seizures. They arrived very quickly and were efficient and empathetic. Even though she wasn't on a medical aid they took her to the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital with no fuss.

Terrible customer service, only efficient when it comes to payments of which were made over a year ago. Claims to have made calls that were never received. I did not even ask for this service (ambulance) as I was ill and unconscious. The service was more expensive than the overall treatment.

I was involved in a car accident on the 9th of September 2017 in London Road on ramp at around 23:00pm and after 00:00am an ambulance arrived and we didn't even call it and we have no idea who called it for us. They asked if we have medical aid and we told them we don't, they did not tell us that we will have to pay for transportation to Edenvale hospital. When we arrived in hospital we were told to sign papers and when we asked what were they for, we were told they were for Doctors to assist us because if we did not sign we were not going to be attended. And the amount they told us to pay was R750 but we were really confused as to why do we have to pay at a public hospital, but because of the pain I couldn't bare, we signed. On the 14th of September 2017, we received calls and texts that we need to pay R2500 per person and that money was for transportation. I feel they needed to explain to us before they took us to hospital because I wouldn't have agreed to pay such amount for transportation. Now worse part is they lied to us, we were never told that the money was for transportation, we only find out yesterday that the money was for transportation. Why would they lie to us to get what they want??? And the R2500 they are talking about is not on my budget. I refuse to pay such amount for transportation only because if they told us on the scene, we wouldn't have used the ambulance. This is a very bad service and it's sad that they had to rob us. I really need answers on this and I wouldn't advice people to use Medi Response because they will be robbed too.
