My wife bought a Starkey hearing aid from Hearcare plus in Mulbarton in 2022. She dropped the hearing aid in September 2024 and we took it back to Hearcare plus and they sent it to the agent to be repaired. We claimed from the medical aid for the repair which was 3 or 4 thousand Rands. We received it back in September 2024 and it was working. In December 2024 the hearing aid came apart but was not dropped this time so we handed it in to them, at which point it was still working but the cover was loose. We were then quoted R1270 for the repair and told that they had submitted it to the medical aid but the medical aid does not pay for repairs which is strange because they paid for the last repair. I feel that firstly the hearing aid should have been repaired under guarantee of the last repair. Secondly their submission to the medical aid was just an E Mail with my wife's name and a comment that it needs to be repaired with no code or anything else. Medifix Hearing Systems - Bedfordview Please do not expect customer service from them. Michelle will happily take your money and insist that goods were sent, when in fact they have not been. She will further insist that this is an issue between your courier and you and not them. Only to find that she is mistaken, and too arrogant to admit to her error. It does not matter how many times you explain to her who you are and what your order is for - she will not be dissuaded from the erroneous thinking and will opt to remain steadfast in her belief that checking facts is a waste of time and that the client is ALWAYS at fault. Save yourself the frustration and steer clear.
