I joined the Medipet family last year. I was a little bit hesitant as I have never had a medical issue with my cat before. Last week Monday, I noticed he was struggling to Urinate. I rushed him to the vet and was informed he had a huge bladder stone blocking his urethra as well as acute kidney injury. This is life threatening for cats. Bear needed surgery. Once I received the bill my jaw dropped to the floor. Bear's Dr app**** for Pre-Authorization, while waiting for approval the most dark thoughts crossed my mind and I was terribly afraid I would have had to make the decision to end my baby's suffering. Within a few hours Bear's surgery and hospital stay was approved. I am so relieved I made the decision to join the Medipet family. Without you guys my baby wouldn't be alive today. HIGHLY RECOMMENED!

We have been with MEDIPET since 2012 when we added our first two Great Dane Puppies, Rose and Grace. Today, we added our 6th Great Dane, a Puppy called Mr Finn. Medipet has been fantastic over the 13 years, not only for their efficiency, but for their constant care and support, especially when one of the Danish Royal Family cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you, Medipet for accepting the naughtiest Puppy in South Africa. Obviously no report card is needed.

Great service! I had an unexpected visit to the vet shortly before Christmas. This is my first time on pet insurance and also my first claim. The claim process was very easy and user friendly. I received a refund within a reasonable time. Very impressed with my first experience!

Medipet was outstanding during my girl, Blueberry's time of need. She had cruciate ligament surgery, spleen removal, and chemotherapy and Medipet covered her medical expenses as promised. A big thank you for your kind words after her passing.

What an incredible company. I've been with Medipet since 2012 and had 6 dogs on the scheme over the years. They have been nothing but amazing in every thing they do. Don't bother with the other small players in the market, these are the people to entrust with your beloved pets. Thank you Medipet for always being just AWESOME!

<div>I'm just slightly confused regarding the process and/or activation. I missed ****** welcome call, but emailed almost immediately that I was available to take the call. Nevertheless, I received her call the following week under the impression that it was a second attempt at going through everything, but it was just a short call to advise me that the underwriters had reconsidered and has now placed an exclusion on the policy. So after being totally blown away by the wonderful way everything was explained and presented at quote stage, I'm left a bit deflated and slightly taken aback by how this has now been handled AND not entirely sure what the reasoning is behind suddenly making it an exclusion if my pet has recovered AND not knowing if I am yet to receive further communication/documentation after the short call today. Just a bit disappointed as it does leave a feeling of wondering if this was handled so vaguely, what lies ahead. I received an out of office that they've closed for the year, which probably explains why concluding acceptance has now been done so slapdash. Had there been a report that my pet's recent visit to the vet indicates an injury that might pose issues later on, I would grasp this completely. But as per my disclosure at application stage, she has made a recovery, so I just don't get it. No request to have my pet evaulated by a vet, so that there can be cer*****y on the matter. Just simply excluded.</div>

My Golden retriever visited the vet on the 29 October 2024 as she was experiencing hip discomfort and pain. The Vet prescribed a 2 month course of consistent pentosan injections to assist her hip discomfort and pain. Nala was required to take an injection a week for a month, which then became one every two weeks for a month. So obviously, each injection was paid on each trip. I accumulated the invoices to submit one claim because it’s one course and surely should be part of one claim. Medipet refunded but charged me an excess for each injection invoice. For me this is unacceptable as it is one course over a period of time so surely all the injections should be treated as one claim with one excess payable.
