Medway Gap cover is a ****!
I'm cancelling this plan as I was misled by various Medway consultants on what the gap cover will actually pay for. I had taken out this plan specifically for the birth of my second child. I had spoken to two different consultants prior to falling pregnant explaining that the birth will be at a birthing clinic. Upon which both consultants assured me that I would be covered. During my pregnancy I again contacted the consultants, and again I was assured that I had nothing to worry about. I have been paying my premiums and absolutely nothing has come from this. I feel ****med. With all the money I have been paying for the past two years, I could have paid for the birth myself. Additionally, I have been struggling to get clarity as to why the claim was rejected, if I had been informed earlier I would have cancelled this "waste of money" earlier.

Medway (medical aid)
I thought signing up for a medical aid would be an absolute nightmare but I have never experienced such a helpful and kind person. Caleb has helped me sign up for my medical aid, he explained everything in detail about how it all works and gave me the best advice for which medical aid suited me and my financial needs best. POOR SERVICE !!
I need information regarding my gap cover at Medway. I have written e-mails to info@medway.co.za and customercare@medway.co.za on 14/1/2025, 27/1/2025, 30/1/2025 and 5/2/2025 NO RESPONSE !!! I called their customer care center on 10/2/2025 and operator told me to e-mail my request to customercare@manageplus.co.za, which I did on the same day and guess what ? NO RESPONSE !! PLEASE HELP !!

STAY AWAY FROM MEDWAY
Medway should actually recieve a 0 out of 5 stars. I am disgusted with the way they communicate with a person. we have paid for 2 years without fail, the very 1st time i claim they dont want to pay. so we went into hospital and at the end of the day Medway request a medical aid statement per doctor. all the medical aid gives us is a statement of every thing hospital, doctors, blood test. medway refused to accept this statement cause they want only the 2 doctors statement separatly. i spend more time trying to get these accounts sorted out than anything else. when you send an email, whatsapp its like talking to a computer the same info all the time. i have now had enough and ive told them i will be putting it on social media. everyperson reading this message STAY AWAY FROM MEDWAY!!!!!! I have read all the reviews on hellopeter and i see they at least reply with an investigation. i hope all the people that they have told this has had a happy ending with there issues.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
Terrible, absolutely terrible. Joke of a company. So much for calling it GAP cover. DO NOT USE MEDWAY AS THEY ALWAYS FIND AN EXCUSE NOT TO PAY OUT A CLAIM! I feel cheated out of my money as they only needed to cover R2400 of a R230 000 medical bill. They refused the claim saying that they do not cover hospital consumables. WHAT UTTER BS IS THIS. The claim was for medicine that my Premature baby needed as he was in the NICU for 5 weeks. They asked for my medical aid and relevant ICD codes to investigate, and they came back with the same response. HOW IS MEDICINE, HOSPITAL CONSUMABLES??!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY. STAY AWAY!
