On Tuesday 24 September we went to Carlucci's at Meerendal Wine Estate. It was my first time and expectations were high. Unfortunately it was a pathetically poor experience for us. We walked up to the sign and waited to be seated. Three waiters stood right infront of us by the point of sale and a couple of them walked past us, but we were invisible to all of them. Only after making an intentional comment, we were told to take a table in the far right corner. We sat down, looked through the menu and decided what we'll have. Kids went off to play and enjoyed themselves. At the table, it was the opposite. After 20-ish minutes, I went looking for someone and ran into an Indian lady. I told her how long we've been waiting and haven't received any attention yet from a waiter. How can the waiter that told us were to sit have forgotten about us? I told the lady where we are sitting, returned to our table and expected service to follow soon. The service never came, so I rounded up the kids and we made our way out. I intentionally went through the entrance to have my final say when I saw a guy and asked if he was in a senior position. He acknowledged he was and I told him about our pathetic experience at the restaurant. All he could say was "I'm so sorry". Almost 30 min of zero service + the time it took to drive there and the time it took to go home and the expense of the trip and I get a "sorry". Sorry ain't good enough, especially when your customer service is so pathetic.
