*EDIT: So I've been receiving random automated messages that my complaint is being reviewed or getting addressed and then this morning (16/01/2025) I receive a SMS saying my case INC-18FB2-3***C1 has been resolved? What? No person made contact with me about this disgusting incident, so how was it resolved???? Original complaint: 08/01/2025 @ 15:55 security men hired by McDonald's Okavango chased me away like a dog in the mall's parking lot because McDonald's were preparing to do a film shoot in half of Okavango Crossing's total parking space. No proper signage were deployed to warn patrons of Okavango Retail Crossing of this film or advert shoot going to take place, so as I parked, private security insisted I park elsewhere because "they've paid" for that space to be used. Shame on McDonald's for poor planning and harrassment by security staff

On 23 August I purchased a Crab sushi bowl from Checkers FX Uitzicht. After consuming just over half of it, I found an offcut piece of plastic in the prepared meal. Gross negligence from the employee and not following Food health and safety guidelines. I tried uploading my complaint to Checkers online platform, but no success and just "try again later"....so here I am posting my complaint. I also didn't want to go back to the store because management is extremely poor and had other plans already.
On 13/3/2024 I mailed NetFlorist to complain about a reckless driver that almost collided with me when he was too eager to merge into my lane. The driver also drove well over the 60km/h in a suburb area. The day after I received a mail back stating that the matter was resolved. Funny, I wasn't contacted directly and neither was I given feedback of the conclusion to their investigation. I mailed them back to say the matter is not resolved in my opinion... I haven't heard anything back since my reply. Pathetic and quite frankly, disgusting service and communication. I shall post the picture of the vehicle in question on social media now.
Wingfield Motors Service Department deserve a massive round of applause! The new team has raised the bar and delivered excellent customer service from start to finish. Lola made regular contact with me to keep me updated and it was a pleasure working with her. She has continued from where Karenza has left off. Derek, the new workshop manager, is also very knowledgeable...especially with Ford's. Great service is very rare these days, so it was refreshing to experience this level from the Service Department...so well done.
Dear McDonald's SA, the CEO Mr Greg Solomon and the holding company MSA Holdings (UAE): Do your customers know that you have tiered your stores? Have you informed your customers in a public announcement and on a public platform that your tiered stores charge different prices for the exact same product? I don't think so because I just learnt this information last week after I lodged a complaint on price difference. One of your employees at Okavango Crossing informed me of this underhanded trading after I paid more for the same product versus what I paid at N1 City Value Centre a day prior. My usual go-to is the Double Chilli Cheese regular meal at McDonald's Okavango Crossing. I paid R49.90 at N1 City and R52.90 at Okavango Crossing. So how come the R3.00 price difference in the seemingly more affluent area??? Please don't give me the speech about rental, because that's not relevant. The cost of ingredients are the same. The cost of electricity to cook it is the same. The cost of labour is the same. We need answers and then corrective action must be taken. I can't believe I overpaid all this time at Okavango Crossing 😠
Glen Eden Guest Farm on the R62 just outside Montagu (Western Cape) is a gem! A beautiful farm-stay offering 6 exclusive camping sites, 5 glamping sites and 5 cottages. All sites have wood-fired hot tubs and the cottages have an additional plunge pool. There's also a communal pool with a wood-fired pizza station and Bootleggers coffee bar. Did I mention they have a liquor licence...? They also take bookings for day visitors now to enjoy the pool and amenities as mentioned above. The lovely hostess, Carol, is an amazing person and a character like none other. But don't take my word for it...go have a look on their FB page 😁
Jackson and Black, Tygervalley has become very popular for their date night special and booking well in advance is advisable. We've ordered various meals and options and have been impressed by it all. Great steak, sides and the best of all the service. A plus is that we can bring in our own preferred wine for a minimal corkage fee.
Chocolat Bistro in Durbanville has never disappointed us....ever. The manager, Vernon, is the absolute best and will make an effort leave his work to come say "hi" at the table you miss him upon entry. We've gotten to know Vernon, so maybe we get that extra special treatment 😁 The food and desserts are always on point and the seating options will suite everyone's needs. The decor is also very eclectic and filled with period pieces. It makes for a cosy setting and lovely ambiance...
Newly opened McDonald's Glengarry, Vredekloof, Cape Town: Went to the newly opened McDonald's at Glengarry Shopping Centre today, however I'll never return based on my first experience there. Using the drive thru, I stood waiting to place my order, however there was no engagement from an employee to take my order. I proceeded to window 1 to place my order. Nobody visible at the window, but eventually a man came walking up and I explained why I didn't place my order at the mic. He said was because they were "busy" and I must drive around to try again. Now I'm already frustrated because of that comment and I said NO, so he then said he'll call a manager to take my order. A woman then came to the window and I again explained why I couldn't place my order initially. She then said, with an attitude, that they were busy. Firstly, there were only 2 vehicles in line waiting at the collection window when I arrived at the restaurant, so how is it that dedicated staff for the drive thru are busy? Secondly, I don't appreciate being engaged with when it's accompanied by a bad attitude, especially from a "manager"! That new branch lost me before they even had me as a client.
