To whom it may concern, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and disgust regarding a purchase I made at your Mushroom Farm branch in Waterfall Midrand. I bought a batch of skilpadjies, and upon opening them, we were hit with an overwhelmingly strong, unpleasant smell that was immediately recognizable as spoilage. The smell was so pungent and foul that it physically caused my cousin to vomit instantly. This is completely unacceptable. Selling meat products in this state is not just a failure of quality control; it is a serious health hazard. It is deeply disturbing to think that your store is allowing putrid food to sit on the shelves. I expect a full refund and a proper explanation as to how food in this condition was sold to a customer. I will not be shopping at Checkers again until I am assured that the quality of fresh foods is taken seriously.

On the the 15th of March 2026 my family and I went to the nearest Checkers supermarket that was at that time, nearest to us. It is the Checkers supermarket, Lavender Square. We wanted to get sushi for lunch. And any time you purchase sushi at a Checkers store, it usually comes with a little container of soy sauce, which is free. However, the sushi I choose on that day didn't have any. Which would mean I would have to purchase some. However I asked for assistance from a very kind gentleman who works at this Checkers - Mr Lucian Swartland- for assistance, if he could get us the soy sauce that was supposed to already be inside the packaged sushi. He checked and saw that the personwho does sushi was done for the day and had backed away everything to do with sushi. But a few minutes, while we were still near his work station, he asked a security guard who was near us to get our attention, as he had found an almost if not more than 5L bottle of soy sauce. He asked us to wait for a few minutes, as he proceeded to pour some soy sauce for me as there wasn't any in my packaged sushi. Mr Lucian Swartland(from Checkers, Lavender Square) was very kind. He went the extra mile to help a customer and with a smile at that. Thank you sir for you kindness and for being diligent with something so small. It made me happy that someone would take their time to do something that wasn't necessarily their job. Thank you

I am so disappointed with the service received from Shoprite Money Market regarding a Checkers voucher purchased via PaysJustNow. My sister purchased a Money Market voucher specifically to buy groceries from Checkers. Unfortunately, due to a change in her phone number, she was unable to access or use the voucher. She approached Shoprite Money Market for assistance, expecting a quick and practical solution. However, it has now been over a week, and the issue remains unresolved. What is even more frustrating is that she was not advised of a simpler option — such as transferring the voucher to another number — which could have resolved the issue immediately. Instead, she has been left without access to funds that were meant for essential groceries. As a result, she has had to spend additional money out of pocket to buy food, while the voucher remains unusable. This situation is not only inconvenient but also stressful and unfair, especially when the funds are urgently needed. I believe the matter could have been handled more efficiently by the Shoprite Money Market agents. Customers should be given clear, practical solutions without unnecessary delays. I kindly request urgent assistance in resolving this issue and ensuring that the voucher can either be transferred or accessed without further delay.

I am extremely disappointed with the service at this South Gate Mall branch. Since February, there has been no stock of Waggies Puppy Food 8kg, and despite the ongoing shortage, there have been no updates or follow-ups with customers. This lack of communication and poor stock management shows a disregard for customer needs. Pet owners rely on consistency, and failing to provide such a basic product for months is unacceptable.

The award for the worst checkers goes to the one at Checkers Norkem Corner. The service is atrocious ,the manager swears at staff in front of customers the hot food section is atrocious and the store is filthy. Believe me it's worthwhile going to Walmart Boksburg where everything is the opposite. And the prices are mind boggling ,I found products up to R50 cheaper than Checkers. I did my weekly shopping at Walmart Boksburg bought the exact same goods as I do at Checkers. And it worked out R380 cheaper.

I did my weekly shopping at Walmart Boksburg bought the exact same goods as I do at Checkers. And it worked out R380 cheaper.

Checkers ferndale.The que was long so by assisting customers i was directed to the next available teller to pay my groceries. I paid my groceries the payment went through and the machine said removed card after payment. The teller receipt printer didnt work and said connection error and couldnt print a receipt. I was told to pay again for the same groceries which they told me i should get a credit on my bank which i didnt. I gave them my details. If the printer had a connection fault error it doesnt mean the payment didnt go through. The checkers staff surely dont know which process to follow but the only option was to pay again. I still didnt get a refund from checkers or the bank.

On 14 March at approximately 11:26, I made a purchase at Checkers using my Capitec Bank card.
