Rental deposit not given back
I had a lease for a period of 4 years where by I paid R7335 as a deposit, however when I moved out last year they simply refused to give me back my deposit. I was told that there was money in arrears from my rental account. My account was up to date and they could not tell me which month was not paid. And the last person I spoke to told me that she could not help and that the person who was dealing with my account had resigned. All I want is my money back and the interest which it has accumulated over the years.

The facts you have given is not true.
You have sub-letted the flat in question without our permission, and the persons you left behind unfortunately frequently defaulted on their rental. You received a full statement with all payments received and due, and said nothing, and now 11 months later you want to put our company in a bad light. I deal with accounts and have been here since 2011, you never took this issue up with me. If you are dissatisfied about your deposit, why do you not take it up with the persons that you allowed to stay in the flat that defaulted? You signed a lease for the unit and took responsibility for paying us the monthly rental. You should have ensured that it was payed in full, then your deposit would have been returned to you in tact.
