I have been a customer of Mitech direct for a few years now, enjoying purchasing guitars, pedals and accessories from a store with great service. Today I went in with a simple request to check if I was able to have my acoustic guitar's pick up restored or replaced. AAThis has been something that I have requested for before at this store. Simple enough request you may think? As a paying customer I do not, and should not know what are steps and procedures the store takes in getting this request fulfilled. All I know is that I am taking my guitar to a store that specializes in musical instruments, to check if my guitar can be fixed at a charge I am willing to pay. However this was not the case when dealing with a lady by the name of Robyn when arriving at the store. I was met with a rude attitude in being told I need to contact an external person in Benoni to have this resolved as she or the store cannot do it. Furthermore, she said that the person I would call would come pick up the guitar from the store after calling him. This seems pointlessly ridiculous as it means I need to go back home, call this guy in Benoni and then come back to the store to drop the guitar off. As this was something I have had fixed at the store before, I was confused as to why I was being referred to benoni to sort this out. But what bothered me most was not the fact that I was being told by a music instrument store that they would "not do a good enough job" to quote Robyn's own words, but her attitude in being completely unwilling to help at all. She continually insisted in a completely rude manner that this is the only way to sort the guitar out. Being part of a service industry myself, I would never refer a client who walked in to my doors to an external source. All in all I will ever visit a store who does not know what they are doing and boasts about the fact that they do not do a good job in their work.
