I purchased my vehicle from Isuzu Bloemfontein on Zastron Street. At the time of signing the invoice, I explicitly informed Gerrie Fourie that I did not want any optional extras added to my deal. He agreed to this. However, when I later received the documents, I noticed that I had been charged R29000 for optional extras.
I immediately queried this with Mr. Fourie via email. His response was that the bank had charged me an additional R29,000. I then contacted the bank directly, and they provided me with the invoice, confirming that the dealership—not the bank—had charged me the extra R29,000.
I returned to Mr. Fourie to address the discrepancy, pointing out that his explanation did not align with the bank’s. He then claimed that the R29,000 was due to a shortfall on my trade-in. This was never communicated to me during the transaction, and when I asked for clarification, he could not provide a proper answer. I requested that he find a solution and call me back, but he never followed up.
I subsequently escalated the matter to Isuzu’s head office. They acknowledged that the dealership had made a mistake and provided me with the contact details of the Principal Dealer, Mr. T. Mokoena. I forwarded my complaint to him, but he has not responded to any of my emails.
