Disturbing our community's peace and quiet for personal or financial gain & facilitating a COVID super spreader event

Mountain Manor Guesthouse and Self-Catering (based in Oranjezicht, Gardens, Cape Town) rented/loaned out the premises on 9th April 2021 for a large group of youngsters as a nightclub venue to gather, drink excessively, play drinking games and inconsiderately and unbearably loud music by anyone’s standards, accompanied by boisterous behaviour. These youngsters were clearly unrelated and not wearing masks making this a COVID super spreader event.

The Police, who are needed by our community to fulfill more important civic duties, after receiving complaints from the surrounding neighbours, had to be called out twice to instruct them to stop being a noise nuisance. Even after the second time they defiantly continued with the boisterous behaviour. The only reason why they turned down the music is because the police told them their sound equipment would be confiscated the third time they were called out for being a noise nuisance.

The owner of this business defiles our community. Can you imagine if we all started throwing parties like this (for personal or financial gain)? We would have a party every day of the week. What would it be like to live here? How would it affect the values of our properties?
