Disturbing our community's peace and quiet for personal or financial gain & facilitating a COVID super spreader event
Mountain Manor Guesthouse and Self-Catering (based in Oranjezicht, Gardens, Cape Town) rented/loaned out the premises on 9th April 2021 for a large group of youngsters as a nightclub venue to gather, drink excessively, play drinking games and inconsiderately and unbearably loud music by anyone’s standards, accompanied by boisterous behaviour. These youngsters were clearly unrelated and not wearing masks making this a COVID super spreader event. The Police, who are needed by our community to fulfill more important civic duties, after receiving complaints from the surrounding neighbours, had to be called out twice to instruct them to stop being a noise nuisance. Even after the second time they defiantly continued with the boisterous behaviour. The only reason why they turned down the music is because the police told them their sound equipment would be confiscated the third time they were called out for being a noise nuisance. The owner of this business defiles our community. Can you imagine if we all started throwing parties like this (for personal or financial gain)? We would have a party every day of the week. What would it be like to live here? How would it affect the values of our properties?

Bad planning/lies causing bad service & experience
Electricity was off, not due to loadshedding, in our opinion the reason seems like a lie. No back up as expected with a guesthouse was made. Gate ran flat, we almost couldnt get out to during the night as was arranged to pick child waiting at venue for us, no thought was give to gate situation. Pinic was unpractical as it was pitch dark outside. Had to spent money too eat out. No back up lights offered for picnic. It was said that lights are in the rooms cupboard, only one for both rooms. No calls answered in the night during emergency. Cold water showers and bath due to above. Old cake. Spa ladies finished with treatments 15 min in advance so they can go home. Not willing to refund in full. Had too leave in the middle of the night due to cicumstances and put our lives at risk. No cellphone reception or wi fi, what does a person do in a emergency? Biggest thing of all, the pictures on the website isnt the same place, this is fraud!! ALSO SEE ALL THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PLACE ON TRIP ADVISOR. THEY ALSO SHARE THE SAME NAME AS A LARGE HOTEL IN CAPE TOWN, DID THEY DO A CO SEARCH AND REGISTER WHEN CHOOSING THIS NAME? Overall a nightmare. Service was friendly but just too many hick ups
