<p>It is with great disappointment that I have to write about my experience at Nambiti Five star private game lodge over the past week. My husband booked us for a two night stay at the nambiti game lodge, honeymoon suite to celebrate our first year being married. Only to have it ruined by the worst chef experience in my whole entire life. I am totally disgusted and sadden by the way we were treated by the chef name "Dass". He was rude, arrogant and not professional at all. He passed his side comments , laughed at my husband and i when we complained about the pathetic food he had prepared for us that night.</p> <p> </p> <p>our first night, was absolutely horrid, I (22weeks pregnant ) suffered with extreme food poisoning after consuming dinner the previous night, as a result of the food poisoning I was unable to enjoy my stay. </p> <p> </p> <p>The next morning, we received the "chefs breakfast" which had baked beans that reeked of a sour smell.</p> <p> </p> <p>we couldn't stomach the food.this resulted me me eating plain toast bread for the entire morning.</p> <p> </p> <p>later that afternoon, we requested to order lunch in our room. The food again was not up to standard. My husband and I couldn't eat it as it had a terrible odour and was tasteless.</p> <p> </p> <p>i then request "fried potatao chips" and I was told that they couldn't prepare that for me as the chef was busy!how rude and pathetic coming from a five star resort!</p> <p> </p> <p>later that evening , our dinner was , in my opoinion deliberately spoilt! We orders duck confit, and grilled tiger prawns as our mains!</p> <p> </p> <p>the duck was so hard that a knife couldn't cut through. I complained and the chef gave me his "dirty look" we weren't even offered an apology or some sought of acknowledgement ! </p> <p> </p> <p>My grilled prawns meals- has literally 4 pieces of baby prawns! But called " grilled tiger prawns" I asked the waiter if this was tiger prawns- and they insisted it was a small version ! We come from a family who fish, and lives by the ocean- we clearly know the difference between tiger prawns and shrimp! My husband and I couldn't eat that night. </p> <p> </p> <p>So so we ordered a simple "toasted cheese sandwich" </p> <p>a really simple meal, that even my 5year old nephew could prepare! The worst toast cheese you could evver ask for- rotten smelly cheese and stale toasted bread! </p> <p>but again, we first had to hear comments such as " I just cleaned up my station, and now you are messing it, this means Blood, this means blood" those were the words that came transmitted from the kitchen staff, Dass and another African lady.</p> <p> </p> <p>my husband and I quietly walked to our room, in extreme anger! We couldn't wait to leave nambiti hills and go home! Because the whole experience was so un-inviting </p> <p>I wouldn't recommend anyone to go this place again only because of the pathetic attitude we received from the chef! To me I felt we were being discrimanated against as we were the only Indians whom booked in that week! </p> <p> </p> <p>On check out, we didn't part take in breakfast with the fear of food poisioning again. And eagerly checked out and couldn't wait to leave that horrid place before we got anymore sick!</p> <p> </p> <p>i can't understand how chefs are allowed to be this rude! This is the first time we have had such a terrible experience at a "five star" accomdation.</p> <p> </p> <p>The chef at nambiti needs a warnings- as his attitude can cost the reputation of the resort to an enormous extend! And he needs to be thought "manners " and " customer ethics" as he clearly lacks all of the above .</p> <p> </p> <p>im totally devastated that we spent almost R17000 and received such pathetic treatment! My one year anniversary has been ruined by these people!</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>

I am extremely disturbed at the review you have posted about us, we strive to provide every guest the utmost attention, impeccable service and delicious food and am disappointed that we have missed the mark with you.
I am however concerned at the inconsistencies with regard to my management and kitchens experience they had with you and what you have posted here.
Dustin my chef is a respectful and well-mannered young man. As is his way he will bend over backwards to ensure our guests leave the dinner table satisfied and am shocked to hear that you felt insulted and discriminated against, I can assure you that at no point during your stay did any of my staff complain about you or any request you made of them.
I was personally present during the evening when you were not happy with your Duck Confit I am surprised to read how you felt victimised and insulted as my experience of the situation was far from what has been explained. Both my waitress Lungi and myself had apologised profusely and offered you anything you would like off the menu. Dustin was more than willing to prepare you anything you would have liked, as I went to him directly to let him know about the issue, to make up for your dissatisfaction with the duck. Unfortunately, you had made no mention of the complaint about the prawns to me and we would have happily replaced them in kind with the duck as previously mentioned.
I am also concerned that you feel that your food experience from your entire stay was less than satisfactory as it is in stark contrast to the compliments about your first night’s dinner that you paid both to me and my guest services manager.
I am also sorry that you feel your one year anniversary has been ruined, these times together are special and should be marked as such. We did make effort to provide you with a complimentary fruit, cheese and chocolate platter as well as a bubble bath and rose petal turn down as we too feel these special times should be properly commemorated.
I truly hope one day you will allow us a second chance at a first impression and come stay with us in the future as I feel your experience is not a true reflection of the service we provide here.
