It's rather unfortunate that the hotel general manager John it rather unprofessional and accused me of threathening him and his staff. After making a reservation for breakfast and the next persons to get a table the staff ignored my booking and gave other guests a table. I brought this to the attention of the GM John proof of SMS can be provided he ignored me and my wife. I then contacted the operations director and got no response I wrote to the CEO and recieved a reply accusing me of threathening his staff and that the hotel followed the booking system which is incorrectly. I called John how was as usual unrespectful started screaming at me and accusing me of all sorts of things when my wife tried to speak to him he cut the phone. It's unacceptable to hear him abusive a d swearing at me we had to check out if the hotel due to our safety. I also asked him to provide the camera footage with regards to him claiming I walked away when he offered me a table for breakfast he refused. Another lie Be careful it's a problem

We planned on coming to SA from London, and booked two nights at Nambiti Hills as my British husband has never been to a game reserve before and this looked gorgeous and really spoily. We recently got married so were treating it as a delayed honeymoon. We were forced to cancel our trip due to Covid-19 beginning to spread and SA closing their borders, and agreed to their policy of 50% refund and 50% voucher which Nambiti told us needed to be spent by October 2020. Then lockdown in SA was enforced, the lodge had to close and international travel was banned so we were therefore absolutely not able to see out our two nights at Nambiti Hills, let alone get into SA. We fought to get this voucher extended to December 2020. Given the unprecedented times we are all currently living in, and considering we did not cancel our holiday by choice, and we have not cost Nambiti Hills a cent, I have requested that they either further refund us our 50% or extend the voucher for a further 6months to 1 year, as it is almost guaranteed that we will still be unable to fly internationally in December this year. While we understand that companies require cancellation policies, it was due to SA and the UK not allowing us to travel between countries that meant we were unable to visit. We have not cost Nambiti Hills anything yet they have not responded, and continue to retain our 50% which equates to a lot of money. We stretched ourselves to get there and are thoroughly disappointed at the extremely poor customer service we have received from a 5 star hospitality company. In fact, it has made us not want to stay there at all and rather look at alternate lodges when we are eventually able to visit South Africa and go on safari to Nambiti.

It is with great disappointment that I have to write about my experience at Nambiti Five star private game lodge over the past week. My husband booked us for a two night stay at the nambiti game lodge, honeymoon suite to celebrate our first year being married. Only to have it ruined by the worst chef experience in my whole entire life. I am totally disgusted and sadden by the way we were treated by the chef name "Dass". He was rude, arrogant and not professional at all. He passed his side comments , laughed at my husband and i when we complained about the pathetic food he had prepared for us that night.

our first night, was absolutely horrid, I (22weeks pregnant ) suffered with extreme food poisoning after consuming dinner the previous night, as a result of the food poisoning I was unable to enjoy my stay.

The next morning, we received the "chefs breakfast" which had baked beans that reeked of a sour smell.

we couldn't stomach the food.this resulted me me eating plain toast bread for the entire morning.

later that afternoon, we requested to order lunch in our room. The food again was not up to standard. My husband and I couldn't eat it as it had a terrible odour and was tasteless.

i then request "fried potatao chips" and I was told that they couldn't prepare that for me as the chef was busy!how rude and pathetic coming from a five star resort!

later that evening , our dinner was , in my opoinion deliberately spoilt! We orders duck confit, and grilled tiger prawns as our mains!

the duck was so hard that a knife couldn't cut through. I complained and the chef gave me his "dirty look" we weren't even offered an apology or some sought of acknowledgement !

My grilled prawns meals- has literally 4 pieces of baby prawns! But called " grilled tiger prawns" I asked the waiter if this was tiger prawns- and they insisted it was a small version ! We come from a family who fish, and lives by the ocean- we clearly know the difference between tiger prawns and shrimp! My husband and I couldn't eat that night.

So so we ordered a simple "toasted cheese sandwich"

a really simple meal, that even my 5year old nephew could prepare! The worst toast cheese you could evver ask for- rotten smelly cheese and stale toasted bread!

but again, we first had to hear comments such as " I just cleaned up my station, and now you are messing it, this means Blood, this means blood" those were the words that came transmitted from the kitchen staff, Dass and another African lady.

my husband and I quietly walked to our room, in extreme anger! We couldn't wait to leave nambiti hills and go home! Because the whole experience was so un-inviting

I wouldn't recommend anyone to go this place again only because of the pathetic attitude we received from the chef! To me I felt we were being discrimanated against as we were the only Indians whom booked in that week!

On check out, we didn't part take in breakfast with the fear of food poisioning again. And eagerly checked out and couldn't wait to leave that horrid place before we got anymore sick!

i can't understand how chefs are allowed to be this rude! This is the first time we have had such a terrible experience at a "five star" accomdation.

The chef at nambiti needs a warnings- as his attitude can cost the reputation of the resort to an enormous extend! And he needs to be thought "manners " and " customer ethics" as he clearly lacks all of the above .

im totally devastated that we spent almost R17000 and received such pathetic treatment! My one year anniversary has been ruined by these people!
