I booked VIP tickets on 03/02/2025 as a special Valentine’s treat for my husband and arranged a babysitter for a rare date night. Upon arrival, other patrons were sitting in our allocated seats and refused to move, telling us to “go complain.” The manager on duty apologized but unbothered said there was essentially nothing she could do, and no alternative solution was offered. As a regular customer who books tickets every few months, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of service and accountability. A special evening turned into a frustrating and upsetting experience.

Nu metro ,menlyn ,ive put in a complaint to them directly, about our experience there ,they just send me from pillar to post ,to repost the complaint to a certain page ,which i did ,but never responded back, or acknowledged the complaint,it shows they dont feel anything, towards their customers . So its ok to have a terrible experience, which us supposed to be awesome, like they advertise.for such an expensive experience that where so pathetically poorly maintained, they can close their doors seriously.

Nu Metro at Canal Walk is always such a great cinema experience. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and professional. The cinemas are comfortable, the sound is amazing, and the overall vibe makes movie night feel special. Definitely one of my favourite places to relax and enjoy a good film.

After many years of only going to Ster-Kinekor because of Vitality (which I don’t have anymore) and because it was the closest, I went to Canal Walk today and tried Nu Metro for the first time in a very long time. I watched Greenland in a VIP cinema, and I’ve realised there’s no going back. This is what the movie experience should be. The recliner chairs were big, comfy, and had proper foot lifts, so I could actually relax for the whole movie. No being annoyed by people squeezing past me, no squeaky chairs, and no sitting there uncomfortable with my feet not reaching the floor. It just felt premium and peaceful. Yes, at first I thought the price was “holy ****,” but now I fully understand it. I’d pay it again in an instant because the experience feels worth it, especially being able to have a beer while watching the movie. Unfortunately I only found out afterwards that paying with my Nedbank card would have given me 50% off, but even at full price it was still money well spent. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever watch a normal general screening again. If it’s not VIP, Xtreme, or 4DX (which I have to try next), it just won’t have that exciting, proper movie experience anymore.

Nu metro movies in Galeria mall has no working cameras on site. If anything dangerous has to happen no one will be able to find out. I miss placed something yesterday and I was told that no working cameras are on site

We visited Nu Metro Gateway Mall on 21 December to watch the Avatar 4DX movie as a family. We bought the tickets at the cinema and paid by credit card. The payment was confirmed on both the card machine and my phone, but the tickets were never printed. Despite showing proof of payment, the Nu Metro Gateway Mall manager refused to let us enter the movie and offered no practical solution. We were left waiting for over 40 minutes while the movie had already started and were eventually told to contact Nu Metro customer service via email. As a result, we missed the movie entirely. What followed afterwards has been even more frustrating. While Nu Metro helpdesk staff have been polite and apologetic, the Nu Metro refund process has turned into an exhausting bureaucratic exercise. I have spent hours emailing back and forth, repeatedly providing proof of payment, bank details, online bank statements, and an official account confirmation letter. Each time, a new requirement is introduced instead of simply correcting a mistake that was clearly caused by Nu Metro. Nu Metro had no problem taking payment immediately, but getting a refund has involved unnecessary red tape and repeated follow-ups. The lack of accountability and the amount of time wasted reflects very poorly on Nu Metro customer service and their internal refund handling. This has been a deeply disappointing experience

New metro movie theatre,we went there last night to watch now you see me now you dont,we got there ,there are a minimal crew working, but behind the snacks counter its a mess, staff are running around not ready , for customers that wants to buy snacks for the movie, wow its shocking on the prices of this whole experience, the popcorn where stale,we where the last movie and there where maybe 20 people ,and the popcorn was refilled ,no other movies,or customers,so that Popcorn are there untill tomorrow, which ate Also going to be stale for the next customers ,the procedure is wrong for so many tears these movie theatres are giving a standard if service, but it seems somewhere there are a fault in the procedure, either the staff that thinks the doing the right thing or the system of the experience has changed,it felt like its ok to leave places dirty, and neglect the customers, and the coca cola where more water than coke, the tables where customers where to put salt on their pop corn where very dirty ,it would be nice to clean between movies to create the image you present, even inside the theatre,it was gross, ive been sick all day of the popcorn i ate,and it feels very hostile,as if i must be carefull and not feel safe at the movies.now. I know why i dont go there any more ,the experience is gone ,the movie was part part out of focus, and the sound was load then soft ,then load again its not consistent with the movie, and we had disturbance from the movie next door,we coul hear the other movies voices ,sounds ,it was a nuisance,we could not enjoy the movie so much.
