Nigel - the previous owner told us we needed a new (second-hand from Japan) engine. It was a LOT of money around R40,000. He told us we could get it reconditioned for a lot less but there would be no guarantees the engine would last. So we saved up and paid the R40,000 explicitly stating that we would rather put the money towards a new car IF he thought the engine wouldn't fix all the car problems. He re-assured us it would. Unfortunately the business got sold after this but we still had our receipt for our engine replacement. We have been in and out of the garage for 9 solid months. They (new owners not Nigel) put a new (second-hand) engine that didn't fix a single problem and created more. I took it back immediately surprised they had even let it out of their shop. The same thing happened again. We took it back (paying for more and more labour costs) as additional things kept going wrong (presumably because of the ***** engines they were using). They kept the car for over a month until I started hounding them (we don't have a second car). They gave it back and a few months later the engine has blown the head gasket. We took it back in. The lady in charge blamed us, telling us we'd let it over heat (we hadn't) We took it to another mechanic who, to our horror, told us the engine was our original one and they just reconditioned it and didn't bother asking us if we wanted that or adjusted the price accordingly. So at this stage we are around R70,000 out of pocket with NO CAR. Absolutely gutted and traumatized by the callous and dismissive way in which we were treated - especially when they've messed us around for about 10 months now! I accused her of *****ing from us and she rep**** that she told us they were going to recondition the old engine which was a blatant lie as we never would have agreed to that because we were told by Nigel NOT TO and we saved money for the more expensive option (because he told us exactly what would happen if we just got the old one reconditioned). An horrific experience.

DISGUSTING SERVICE!!
<p>I shall not disclose dates.</p> <p> </p> <p>My car went in for a major service and brakes. The next morning a loud knocking noise was heard, because it was so loud I decided to pull into a tyre shop (no names mentioned) in a panic the manager was very helpful and attended to me quickly. Much to his disgust he found the nuts on the left wheel to be loose and found one nut to be missing. The tyre was not on correctly causing the tyre to knock. Bear in mind that my two young children as well as my mother and father were in the car. Should we have driven any further the wheel would have come off causing my family and I to have a huge and unforeseen accident. An accident that would have been caused by a negligent mechanic whose only answer is ""it happens"".</p> <p> </p> <p>Should my family have been in an accident or even worse hurt or injured, you would have had to bear the price of that. I then confronted him and he had a no care attitude and he said that he gave the staff a talking too which I highly doubt.....as he told his receptionist that he did the brakes and that he couldn’t find the nut anywhere and that he would look....I’m still waiting! A week later my car was leaking oil so I took it back. I have never received such disgusting service from anyone....even worse the fact that he lied! My car was a 100% percent when I took it in and now I have endless problems with it!</p> <p> </p> <p>The dipstick was broken and he confirmed in front of one of his employees that he had removed the broken piece and fixed the oil leak...is not true!!! I checked the dipstick again only to discover that it was the same dipstick that had been broken by themselves! Before I checked the dipstick, he rudely dropped the keys at my receptionist and told her not to tell me the car was here. So I ran down, he was driving off, only to give me some bull**** story that he had fixed it!</p> <p> </p> <p>""Call me tomorrow should the leak still be there" was the answer I got after I asked him what was wrong.</p> <p> </p> <p>As a woman and a single mother, he made me out to be stupid and that I have no idea what is going on!! Let me tell you something I was not born yesterday and should anything happen to myself or my kids...you shall have to answer to it. You offer a service and quite clearly you could not be bothered of the after effects of your service, the lack of people s****s is even less and I wander which other customers you have treated this way. When a customer is speaking to you and asking for help, blatantly turning your back on them when they are speaking is very rude.</p> <p> </p> <p>I shall not leave this matter and shall be back for you to rectify what you said you fixed.</p> <p> </p> <p>Disgusting service and just remember that word of mouth hurts more than any other way of communication.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
