I would like to formally raise a concern regarding a very disappointing experience I had today, 25 February 2026, at Ocean Basket Vangate Mall. When I arrived, there were only two customers dining in, so I expected my takeaway order to be prepared within a reasonable time. I ordered the R145 special, which included prawns, calamari, fried fish, fries, and rice. Unfortunately, my order took almost an hour to be prepared. During this time, I was repeatedly informed that the order was being packed. When I eventually received the order and left, I checked the contents and discovered that prawns were missing. In addition, the fish and calamari were burnt, and the taste suggested the food had been prepared in old oil. To make matters worse, no napkins or cutlery were included in the takeaway bag. The quality of the food was so poor that I was unable to finish the meal and had to discard it. As I had purchased the order on my way home from work and live far from the mall, returning to the store was unfortunately not feasible.
This experience was extremely disappointing, and I hope you will investigate the matter and advise on how this will be addressed.
