Saturday dinner at ocean basket at ballito was a absolute disaster ....we ordered a plater for 1and a Seared Tuna ...the. tuna was absolutely salty and Same with the calamari so salty i had to call in the waiter twice to verify if its normal ,was told they would speak chef on my next visit ...but from being a regular at Ocean Basket ballito i will neva visit again ...nor should the public and avoid the Salty tastes ....while speaking too family and friends they all shared bad experiences at the same branch ,so it wasn't just me and my salty experience...that's my reason posting this on this platform (avikar 0813917531)

I would like to thank James at Ocean Basket Rosebank, oh what a beautiful soul, we got there very hungry and we supposed to be served by another waitress, we would told they gonna come back after 2 minutes to take order for drinks waited there for more than that. We saw James pass by and we already irritated by the waiting while hungry but my gosh he was able to calm us down. Take out order with so much kindness and respect. Reassured us that the food will be there in no time and he did not lie made sure our staters were served as quickly as possible and told us by the time we done with our starters our mains will follow. And he was such a kindhearted spirit even though we were a bit irritated and gave him a bit of a hard time at first and I would like to apologise for that. I think his manager was also there who kept asking if we are okay and when left he did his good byes with such a good attitude. The food was so amazing I don’t know if it is because of the customer service we recieved. I just wanna say thank you so much James may good bless your heart, family and all those that you love. And may you continue with the great job that you did and I hope more opportunities comes your way because of your energy and spirit. The manager as well thank you for making us feel welcomed we can tell by your stuff that you are doing a great job don’t ever change that.

Food and service was excellent as always however, there is currently a heat wave in Table View, and the Table View branch had one visible air conditioning unit which was incapable of cooling down the entire area. We sat sweating through our meal & drinks and was forced to leave as soon as possible. A few ceiling fans would have at least improved the situation but obviously management are not concerned with the comfort of both staff & customers, just saying.

Ocean Basket Pavalion well done for the new set up , seats are so comfortable and going forward this will be my restaurant without any doubt well done guys this is more than beautiful

I tried to give Ocean Basket Irene Mall another chance after the bad experience i had with them last year, however, this time they gave me 8 pieces of chips and 3 tubes of calamari. Then people wonder why we'd rather eat in and not out.

I would like to formally raise a concern regarding a very disappointing experience I had today, 25 February 2026, at Ocean Basket Vangate Mall. When I arrived, there were only two customers dining in, so I expected my takeaway order to be prepared within a reasonable time. I ordered the R145 special, which included prawns, calamari, fried fish, fries, and rice. Unfortunately, my order took almost an hour to be prepared. During this time, I was repeatedly informed that the order was being packed. When I eventually received the order and left, I checked the contents and discovered that prawns were missing. In addition, the fish and calamari were burnt, and the taste suggested the food had been prepared in old oil. To make matters worse, no napkins or cutlery were included in the takeaway bag. The quality of the food was so poor that I was unable to finish the meal and had to discard it. As I had purchased the order on my way home from work and live far from the mall, returning to the store was unfortunately not feasible. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I hope you will investigate the matter and advise on how this will be addressed. I look forward to your response. Nosi 0764111104
