I recently made a booking via the app, at One Hyde Park Sandton, South Africa. When I arrived, I was informed that the unit within One Hyde Park is owned by a lady called Brenda Mahlangu (unit 1.2). I communicated with Brenda to extend my stay, whilst doing that I accidentally overpaid her a large amount of money. I sent her a POP showing that the money is off my account and was reflecting to have successfully transferred into her Standard Bank account. She insisted that I pay her upfront in cash and she will refund me back the accidental payment upon receiving it, so I did, which was handled very poorly in the manner she and her husband communicated with me. Notheless, days went by, and it’s now 2 weeks straight, no refund! I discovered she long received the money, and when I did, she now disappeared, not taking my calls and not responding to messages. I live in Europe and was meant to return soon, I have sent her a letter of demand via the court system, demanding that she sends me back the money. To this day, she has disappeared into thin air!!! The police are now involved, and unfortunately even this process is costing me additional money running around in Ubers! I trusted that booking this accommodation via Booking.com, I would not be dealing with such a ********! I am still here in South Africa and the lady is non contactable! I also for some reason cannot give a review on her property/unit directly, whilst her property came under One Hyde Park booking and within One Hyde Park, the unit / apartment is owned and managed by Brenda Mahlangu, This has been such a terrible experience as it affected my visit to South Africa and to this day I have not received my money back!

Worst customer service!! False adverti*****t!! I PHONED TO MAKE A BOOKING AND ENQUIRE OF PRICES I WAS CHARGED 100rands more than what is being advertised on Airbnb. Their website states if we are booking direct it is 10% less however that is not the case. When you phone their customer services your put ok mute and next thing they hang up the call on you for asking a simple question regarding what is being advertised against what you are being charged! Happy has the worst customer service!
