I bought an Opel Crossland 1.2T Edition this year (2024) for a "bargain" price of R360 000. It only had 100km on the clock—demo Model.
A month later my wife decided that she would rather stick to her first choice of vehicle, a Jeep Renegade.
I tried to trade in the vehicle with an Opel Dealer, to trade it and pay for a Jeep Renegade (Also sold under the Stellantis Group).
To my surprise, the dealer just shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't want my spotless Opel. He can maybe give me half the price (R260 000).
My Opel only has 1000km on the clock and retails for R439,000.
I took this issue up with the Stellantis group, customercareza@stellantis.com.
They just advised to to speak to the same branch manager, who still did nothing.
Then after emailing them again, I received a phone call from an uneducated, poor English-speaking lady, not understanding a word I told her.
That's it, emails, phone calls, no aftersales support.
The Opel brand will probably be closing down soon due to poor support, poor aftersales, and poor communication.
I'm sitting with an Opel which I don't want!!! but have to keep, otherwise, I will lose thousands.
I decided to start a campaign now, to warn other South Africans to stay away from Opel.
