My husband purchased my wedding ring (diamond ring) at Orient Jewellers in the Plaza in February this year. Two weeks ago the diamond fell out. When I took the ring back to the store the owner, Yusuf, said that I have to pay for him to fix the ring. When I did not agree to this as I do not think it is far since it is a fault of the Jewellers, he started being rude, screaming at me in the store saying that I should not tell him about his business and he doesn’t care if I am a customer. He also said that there is no guarantee on diamonds, when telling him that this was not stipulated in any documents he said ‘it doesn’t have to be’.
I have had a terrible experience with this Jewellers and do NOT recommend anyone shop there. They do not have any customer etiquette and are only nice when they can take your money, they are so greedy for money that they want to charge me to fix the ring that they had manufactured poorly. I have NEVER had a diamond fall out of any original diamond ring that I had bought from other stores. One cannot spend thousands of Rands on a ring and have no guarantee. Their quality of work is clearly very poor for the prices that they charge. The owner is rude, arrogant and has NO customer service ethics. Absolutely pathetic service experienced with this store.
