Inconsistent pricing and poor transparency at Ouhout Meubels Willowbridge

My experience with Ouhout Meubels at the Willowbridge branch was disappointing and raised concerns for me about pricing transparency.

While I was in the store, a sales clerk told me they were running a 20% sale on blackwood furniture. I was interested in a blackwood TV cabinet priced at just over R18,000, and he then calculated the discounted price as R15,900. Based on my own calculation, that did not appear to reflect a full 20% discount, which immediately made me uneasy.

I also asked what delivery would cost and was told R350. On the day of delivery, however, I received a WhatsApp message saying the delivery fee was now R450. When I questioned this and pointed out that we had agreed on R350, the sales clerk first insisted it was R450. Only after I said that my girlfriend also remembered the R350 amount did he agree to leave it at R350.

In my personal opinion, the pricing and communication were inconsistent, and the experience left me with very little confidence in the way the sale was handled. I would suggest that customers get all pricing, discounts, and delivery charges clearly confirmed in writing upfront.
