I hired JC Projects, a builder based in Stellenbosch, to build a braai room extension at my house. My experience started off positively, but over time I became increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of the work and how certain aspects of the project were handled. In my personal experience: Some parts of the build did not seem to match what was shown on the approved plans, which later caused issues with the building inspection. There were additional items added during construction that I had not clearly approved in advance, and I was later asked to pay more for them. The roof sealing took several attempts before it was properly completed. I often felt pressured about payments and found some of the communication around money confusing or inconsistent. At one stage, I was told that funds were short and that I might need to cover certain supplier costs directly. The tiling and painting work appeared below the standard I expected, with visible unevenness and poor finishing in some areas. Overall, my personal experience with this builder was disappointing, and I would not use them again. I suggest that anyone considering this company make sure everything is clearly agreed in writing and that progress and quality are closely monitored.
I have been with discovery now for ten years. In this time I have lived in 4 different houses. Every time I move I update my address on their online portal. For some reason every year when I get the tax certificate from discovery, it still has my original address from 10 years ago. I also called them and they have my new address on their system. But the tax certificate always comes back with my ancient address. How is this possible? Thing is, SARS does not like this very much. Please help.
I bought a report online, payment went through, but at the point it had to generate a report it broke and I never got the report, also not emailed to me. I sent them a message, they asked for more info which I have sent twice, but still no report, almost two weeks now, still waiting.
Sygnia is the best asset management company in South Africa. Their RA with the Skeleton 70 balanced fund is well priced and their customer service is very good. Their online portal is also decent and always available.
I requested a letter that shows my monthly contribution to my RA. It is now more than a week and still waiting. This is a very basic letter. Why is it taking this long. The next tax season is almost upon us. I am going to lose my company matching if the letter is not done by end of this month.
Cashier told me I am not allowed to use the basket to carry a couple of items to my car. I spend R10k a month in this store. How am I supposed to get groceries to my car? Really disappointed. Is this like a store wide rule. Seems like a really nonsensical rule to have. Are you trying to inconvenience customers as much as possible.
I bought a Franke kitchen sink from CTM online store. Paarden Island branch did the actual order. The online advert says the sink includes the waste strainer and so does the invoice. When they delivered the goods, the delivery guy was extremely pushy to get me to sign the documents so he could leave. The waste strainer was missing. I phoned CTM afterwards and they said they would look into it, it is now more than a week later and nothing. I am sitting here with a sink I cannot use. I have been a regular customer of CTM for many years. I probably spent upwards of R100k at their stores in the last 7 years, really disappointed.
I keep on getting cold called by this company. Where did you get my number? Do you know what the POPI act is?
This company asks for your current payslip to apply for jobs with them. This is very unethical. They presumably "need" this info so they can lowball previously disadvantaged people to keep them stuck on lower salaries? Who knows. They also deleted my negative review of them on Google...also unethical. They also seem to have a lot of fake jobs that they advertise that another reviewer is mentioning. Presumably they do this to collect CVs for their database? Who knows. Also very unethical.
We requested the car registration document as well as paid up letter by email on the 12th of April, it is now 9 days later, absolutely no response from Wesbank.
