What an absolute disaster after using them for 5 other services. The lady by the name of Carol is very rude, she knows nothing about customer service. She is a **** and does not know anything about customer service, to think I’ve had good service before and this time was just the worst. Firstly they decided to mess with my bumper, she then tells me that’s how my bumper looked, after she reviews the video she took when I left my car, she’s so quick to ask the technician what happened without acknowledging that she had disputed my statement. Today I decide to check that they’ve stamped my service book, to my surprise, there’s no service book. She claims she mentioned this yesterday, I asked at which point, she said I did not respond, I further asked why wouldn’t I answer, because we discussed my brakes, my light which I specifically told them not to touch. At this point you even doubt whether they serviced my car or not. I am definitely taking this to Motor Industry Ombudsman because even with the manger you can just tell everything will be swept under the carpet

Dear Ford Bakkie Community, I wish to bring to your attention a concerning experience I had with Paul Maher Ford which may serve as a cautionary tale for fellow Ford drivers. Recently, I took my Ford Ranger XLT to this dealership for its 60,000 km service. Prior to this visit, I had not experienced any leaks, as I routinely have my chassis treated to prevent dust and oil ingress. However, during my appointment, the service advisor, Mr. Dwayne "*****" Storey, informed me that I would receive a quote after an assessment. After waiting for an extended period and not receiving a call back from him, I reached out at 4:30 PM and was finally presented with a quotation amounting to R29,000, which included R3,000 for the service itself and extensive repairs for what they claimed were oil leaks between the engine and gearbox. It is important to note that this vehicle was a demo model that I purchased without any previous issues. Upon seeking a second opinion from an independent mechanic, it was revealed that the nuts were simply loosened, indicating that no repairs were necessary. The mechanic observed that the nuts appeared relatively new and had only minimal grease, contrary to the dealership's assertions. After addressing the issue myself at the cost of R5,000, I can confidently advise against utilizing the services of Paul Maher Ford. Their practices appear to undermine the reputation of Ford, and I believe sharing my experience may help prevent others from encountering similar issues. Thank you for considering this information as you make decisions regarding your vehicle maintenance.

Terrible Experience – Dishonest Dealership Sold Me a Faulty Ford Figo with Electrical & Gearbox Damage I normally don’t leave reviews, but this experience was so unacceptable and stressful that I have to warn others. I bought a Ford Figo from this dealership and it turned out to be one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made. From month one, there were signs that something wasn’t right with the car. The battery kept dying unexpectedly, and no matter how many times I charged or replaced it, the problem persisted. Then came the electrical issues — lights flickering, dashboard warning lights coming on randomly, central locking not working properly, and the car even cutting out mid-drive at one point. Soon after, I started noticing gearbox problems. The car struggled to shift gears smoothly, there was grinding noise, and eventually the gearbox completely gave out. When I took it for diagnostics, I was quoted up to R70,000 worth of repairs — and that’s not even including the ongoing electrical faults. But what makes this worse is how the dealership handled (or rather, mishandled) everything. • They **** about the service history, claiming the car was well-maintained — only for me to find out later that the records were doctored, switched out with another vehicle’s history. Upon purchase they **** saying they had it serviced. No they did not . They gave me **** records or it being “serviced” • They altered paperwork and withheld key documentation. • Every concern I raised was met with excuses, blame-shifting, or outright lies. • When I pushed for accountability, they became dismissive and evasive, trying to delay any form of resolution. Eventually, the issues were so bad that the car had to be replaced. But that process wasn’t easy either — it took constant back-and-forth and pressure to even get them to acknowledge the extent of the damage. And even then, they acted like they were doing me a favour. This dealership clearly has no integrity, no concern for customer safety, and is willing to lie and falsify information just to make a sale. I would strongly advise anyone to stay far away from them. If I could give zero stars, I would.

This is the type of employees Ford has. I am reaching out regarding a traumatic incident I experienced yesterday 26.02.25 involving one of your employees, Souhai Eidi, who works for Ford Paul Mahers Ford. I was on my way to pick up my son from school when the accident happened. As I approached the traffic light at Silverstar, I intended to move from the right lane to the left lane. I signaled and began merging, believing I had enough space to do so safely. A white Ford bakkie was behind me, and as I started changing lanes, the driver suddenly accelerated, honked aggressively, and tried to force me back into the right lane. I also honked in response and continued merging. The driver then followed behind me, crossed over the median, and deliberately broke off my side mirror. He stopped next to me and repeatedly said, "You see now, you see now." At that moment, I felt unsafe and took out my pepper spray for self-defense. The driver then sped off, and I followed him for about 3 to 4 km until he finally stopped. When I got out of my vehicle—holding my pepper spray for protection—he repeatedly stated that he was armed and could use his weapon if I sprayed him. He made this threat several times. A woman who was with him also verbally attacked me, shouting insults and saying that I was disrespectful for trying to merge in front of him. Eventually, the driver took down my license plate and admitted he was responsible for damaging my vehicle. However, he also tried to shift the blame onto me, insisting that I should not have expected him to let me merge. Since my son was still waiting at school, I could not go to the police immediately, but I was so shaken by the incident that I called my fiancé in a state of hysteria. My main concerns are: 1. The driver deliberately damaged my vehicle and drove recklessly. 2. He threatened my life by stating that he was armed and could use his weapon. 3. He fled the scene after causing damage to my car. This entire experience has left me deeply traumatized. I had to take medication to calm down, and I will likely need counseling due to the emotional impact. I am not only concerned for my own safety but also for how this reflects on Ford as a company. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and for the necessary action to be taken against this driver. Please let me know how you plan to address this matter.

Took my car there for service and everything came back okay but at the time my brakes had a squeaky sound which I told the service advisor about and he said its probably just dust, my brakes are okay and they will last until next service. tell me why 2 months later my brakes still making a sound and when I called them I was told Id have to pay R1058 to check,??. I then get someone else to check and my brakes are on 0%, they finished. How do brakes go from '' lasting another cycle'' to finished in 2 months? was my car even checked? what else can I expect to break down??

Paul Maher Ford Blackheath offers professional service. From booking, waiting room, and communication, these guys are excellent. Their diagnosis is always good the first time, which bears testimony to the quality of their technicians.

My car has been at the branch for almost two full days for the 3rd service interval. So disappointed by the service that I am receiving from the branch as it is my first time at the branch. I would not recommend it to anyone.

As a supplier and contractor to the motor industry , we always strive for excellent and efficient service. We invoiced Paul Maher Auto on work carried out on one of their vehicles in August 2022, we had still not recieved payment over a month later. We normally give dealerships 1 month grace , they had still not paid the invoice going into October , when contacted they said they would pay it , they never did , When contacted telephonically and via email they came up with an excuse that they didnt know which Job card order it belonged to. If that is the case , certain staff should not be holding positions in that company . It has been over 6 months and still no payment has been made by Paul Maher , they ignore all correspondence and this is absolutely disgusting. You can bet a customer was charged exhorbantly for additional work carried out on their Ford Transit van . And we never got paid as the company actually performing the work on the vehicle. I would not recommend Paul Maher Auto to anyone!
