Please note that the booking below was made on Saturday, 15 October 2022 on booking.com. On the website, the Total Amount was ZAR 3863.70. Soon after finalising the payment, I received a bank notification of R5 444.89. I immediately contacted booking.com and they referred me to The Pearls of Umhlanga. They informed me that the cancellation waiver would be at the discretion of the hotel. I even contacted them directly and spoke to them per telecon and was informed that an e-mail was sent to you.
I have no problem with the initial amount charged of R3 863.70 as I had every intention of booking my stay for that amount, however, I did not budget for making a payment of 5 444.89 as it was not the final check-out amount. This is false advertising and it is very confusing to the customer.
My ask: 1. Waive the cancellation fee and refund me in full 2. Book my 2-night stay for the initial quote of R3 863.70 without charging the cleaning and concierge fee.
