Poor service Recruitment Company

We obtained an IT person from this recruitment company. It turned out that he had a long history of alcohol abuse and in less than 9 months was absent frequently even sometimes for more than a week during which time he was drinking. We believe that his background checks were not done properly as he acknowledged that he had a past history of alcohol and psychological issues /problems. On approaching PeopleSolved to rectify the matter they said they did all the checks and will not be able to assist to replace unless we paid for their services in full again and also referred us to the fine print in the agreement. They absolved themselves from any responsibility and were not forthcoming with any other suggestions to resolve. We find it extremely disappointing to be left with this situation.
