My family and I will NEVER darken PW's door again. We have been supporting them for years and on Sunday decided to trundle up to PW from Toti for a nice outing with the family - yes we sanitised and wore our masks. Upon arrival at 9am we asked for a table ... the majority of tables inside the restaurant were empty and were told they were reserved. We put our names on the list for a table and were told would have about an hour's wait. No problem. We went walk about and returned an hour and a half later. Same inside tables still empty .... we could have had our breakfast by then and left but anyway ....... we were given 2 tiny tables that sit 2 people each and 3 chairs and there were 9 of us. When we queried where we should all sit, we were told that we did not let them know the 3 children in our party needed to sit!!!!! We have actually taught our children that one sits on a chair when eating ... quite a novel idea I know but nevertheless that's how we roll. So 3 of us sat and eventually the manageress came along and asked us if everything was okay. No, clearly everything is not okay we are 9 and there are only 3 chairs and 2 minute tables. Miss Manageress then snapped at us and told us that if we had wanted to eat there, we should have phoned the previous day and made a reservation! We were really sorry to have inconvenienced them by having us support their restaurant so managed to scrounge a few more chairs and all squashed around the 2 small tables. No worries .... ordered our food and left. Oh and by the way, R85 for a plain toasted cheese sarmie for the children is extortionate to say the least. Perhaps we were charged extra because the children were sitting on chairs whilst eating their meal. Bye bye PW ... not the first time we have had a bad experience there but certainly the last!!!
