I called Plumb1st out to come and check why water was leaking from our geyser overflow pipe. They had come out just 7 months ago and replaced the element, geyser and gasket. When I checked on the internet, it said the most probable reason for water leaking from the overflow pipe is a faulty thermostat.
When I spoke to Plumb1st, they agreed to come out and check. I sent them a photo of the previous invoice. They never mentioned anything about charging a call out fee.
The plumbers that arrived stated that the geyser was a very old 2010 model and that it needed to be replaced because it has cracked. My question is, if they came out last year, why would they have replaced the element, thermostat and gasket instead of recommending a new geyser at that point in time. The geyser was surely in pretty bad shape then already.
After the two plumbers had come out and given a quote, they insisted that I must either accept the quote immediately or pay the R650 in cash. As I had not expected to be paying a call out fee, I did not have that amount of cash on me, They called their boss and told him, but he insisted I had to pay.
I then called him myself. At that point in time, he would not even hear me out. He started screaming and ranting and raving at me. He then told me to "go stick that f...ing R**** up my ass".
I cannot believe that any service provider would be so rude to his client. I definitely do not recommend that anyone make use of their services.
