In 2024, I app**** for a police clearance certificate through PostNet Hillcrest. After receiving an SMS from SAPS indicating it was ready, I visited the branch multiple times and was repeatedly told it had not arrived. Based on this, I reapp**** and paid again in March 2025.
To my shock, a new staff member later found the original document—expired—proving it had been there all along. When I asked for proof that I had been contacted to collect it, I was told no records were kept.
This lack of communication and accountability has cost me both time and money. I had to take time off work and pay again for a document that was already available but mishandled by the branch. Unless PostNet can provide proof that they attempted to contact me, I believe I should not be held financially responsible for their error.
Very disappointed with the service and lack of responsibility shown.
